Well, we can get that every day from everything... so I don't think your offering is intriguing enough.Gary Childress wrote: ↑Thu Jun 11, 2026 11:04 pmA greater understanding of nothing.Lacewing wrote: ↑Thu Jun 11, 2026 10:57 pmWhat's in it for her?Gary Childress wrote: ↑Thu Jun 11, 2026 10:43 pm Because I've studied nothing for a long time and have a lot to say about it. Hey, have you watched the Age of Disclosure documentary on Amazon Prime? Now there's something potentially interesting to talk about. I'd like to hear what you think if you watch it.

I haven't seen the documentary, no. I don't watch much TV. But if a pretty girl wants to go to the movies, I'd love to accompany her. I'll pay, and she can be the boss. Is that worth anything?

Why don't you put out an ad in your community:Gary Childress wrote: ↑Fri Jun 12, 2026 12:56 pmI haven't seen the documentary, no. I don't watch much TV. But if a pretty girl wants to go to the movies, I'd love to accompany her. I'll pay, and she can be the boss. Is that worth anything?
"Awkward guy with nothing to say seeks pretty girl for going to the movies. I'll pay and you can be the boss."
You might get a response! Nothing ventured, nothing gained... right?
Every few weeks, you could change the ad:
"Awkward guy with nothing to say seeks pretty girl to go to dinner. I'll pay and you can be the boss."
"...to go to a concert"
"...to go bowling"
etc.
You could become a local phenomenon! Creative awkward guy becomes sought-after companion in town.

Hmm. You might have a good point there. I'm on the dating app Bumble right now. So far, I've only had two hits (I need to pay the app before I can see who they are); maybe I'll try that too.Lacewing wrote: ↑Fri Jun 12, 2026 4:00 pmWhy don't you put out an ad in your community:Gary Childress wrote: ↑Fri Jun 12, 2026 12:56 pmI haven't seen the documentary, no. I suggest: Be as honest as possible from the start, but be positive (nobody wants a drag)... and don't fall in love (just to beat yourself up with their potential rejection).Gary Childress wrote: ↑Fri Jun 12, 2026 4:18 pmHmm. Re: Gary's Corner
So if universal health care is unsustainable according to the laws of economics; and the universe (by necessity) must be something created by a sentient being that we traditionally call God; if both of those statements are true, then does that mean that God created a universe where the rules of nature and the human world dictate that universal healthcare is unsustainable?
Or (if there is a God) did God just create a systematic universe ad hoc and only realize later that he had created one in which all humans cannot possibly (according to the way the laws of economics work) receive decent medical care?
