Just thought people here might like to see what we are up against, in terms of AI bots registering, and making convincing looking first posts in order to be approved so that they can post spam links.

I’m currently delving into the philosophy of mathematics and am particularly interested in the intersection between logic and mathematical theory. Could someone explain how different logical systems influence philosophical views on mathematics? Specifically, how do logical frameworks like classical logic, intuitionistic logic, or modal logic affect our understanding of mathematical truth and the nature of mathematical objects?

And then in tiny white writing against the pale background near the foot of the post was a spam link. We're seeing a lot of initial posts like that now - vaguely convincing posting, with a tiny white link embedded somewhere in the text, easy to overlook. In one case, the link was a single full stop ("period"). But it was clickable and would show up as a link to search engines.

Given the quality of the machine-generated text, sifting out the bots is becoming a harder and harder task.

Perhaps removing the 'introduce yourself' thread would help. That seems to attract them. They write their introduction and are never seen again.

And then there's 'Age'. Surely that must be a bot. It even constantly refers to itself as not human.

Can you fight fire with fire and send all first posts through an AI, with the order to look for such things.
I was quite suprised to find that I could use Chatgpt, in its 4 version which one can use free for periods each day, to search through PN posts by poster and it searches better than the search in PN. You can, for example, ask it to search for specific topics that a poster might have mentioned, but it doesn't have to be specific words. I don't know if they can dive into PN and find hyperlinks, but perhaps some AI out there can. In teaching, we are using AIs to fight AI cheating. Not that it's perfect, at all.

I'd much rather be spammed by commercials and adverts on every single media platform and app i use all day long every day for the rest of my natural born life.
