Hey, these days, anywhere they've got a school or a mall is a danger zone.

That would be a truly extraordinary rate of failure, an outrageous statistical anomaly. I think you owe God a prayer of thanks you're still breathing. The guns in the rest of the world seem to be working much more predictably.

Re: Gun Control
It's very nice you have an opinion. However...
I won't be givin' up my Stoeger , or have it taken from me.
Irrelevant, even if true.Statistics show that owning a personal protection firearm is far more dangerous than not owning one. Risks include suicide, domestic violence,, and being shot by an armed intruder
Irrelevant.Behaving irrationally out of fear is cowardly.
Irrelevant, even if true.Fear is the only reasonable reason for keeping a pp firearm.

Bottomline: until I unjustly deprive another of life, liberty, or property, by way of my shotgun, my shotgun is no one's business.

"A crack addict breaks into your home, along with his gang members, to loot your house" was what I was responding to.
BTW if you are going to use personal protection to help yourself at the mall, a "personal protection" gun isn't going to cut it, you're going to need to concealed carry everywhere you go, which is a whole other level of paranoia well beyond this thread's discussion so far.
Re: Gun Control
If you noticed, I made no assertions about gun control, only about the cowardice of those who own them for protection. You are free to be as craven as you want to be. Good luck and gave a good day! Be careful, though. Don't go out in the sun. Your shadow might frighten you.henry quirk wrote: ↑Sat Oct 28, 2023 5:15 pm

The point still carries. "Personal protection" is clearly not limited to home situations. You know that.LuckyR wrote: ↑Sat Oct 28, 2023 5:19 pm"A crack addict breaks into your home, along with his gang members, to loot your house" was what I was responding to.Immanuel Can wrote: ↑Sat Oct 28, 2023 2:22 pm"Personal protection" was the term used. Dick flashin' is perverted. You shoulda been ostracized, not jailed. And, whether, the law likes it or not, you still have a natural right to any property you choose...including a gun.promethean75 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 28, 2023 11:34 pm Gotta sit this one out, boys. Re: Gun Control
Now this is interesting.
Is it the exposed reproductive fluid delivery system appendage (RFDSA) that is offensive, or is it the context in which the RFDSA is exposed, that makes it offensive?
If the former, then streakers, nudists, male patients being examined, male athletes in locker rooms and boys getting baths by their moms are all perverts and should be criminalized.
If the latter, then the perverse nature of the act is not exclusive to the exposure of the RFDSA, and becomes perverted only in certain contexts.
Then question is, what makes the pervert a pervert? That he whips it out, or that he whips it out here instead of there?
"You shoulda been ostracized, not jailed."
Don't u worry, i got both.
And I disagree. 'indecent' exposure is grounds for being imprisoned (tho not for long... certainly not four years).
"And, whether, the law likes it or not, you still have a natural right to any property you choose...including a gun."
I disagree. There is no 'right' to carry a gun. There is a law that says u can (and this is not a 'right', just a rule enforced by a power) or there is the balls (another power) to do so if the law doesn't permit u to.

Re: Gun Control
Really? On what grounds do you reckon that to be so? Morality is a fiction, a spook, yes? The law is nuthin' but might makes right, yes? You mean to say: in my opinion, indecent' exposure is grounds for being imprisoned, don't you?indecent' exposure is grounds for being imprisoned (tho not for long... certainly not four years).

People get into large groups called societies and then they agree on what they all should and shouldn't do. Next they create a police force that enforces the rules they made up. If one of those rules is 'u can't whip it out', and somebody whips it out, that person may be penalized. Penalties may include being incarcerated.
This isn't an 'opinion' is it?

This is the full exchange...
Me: You shoulda been ostracized, not jailed.
You: Don't u worry, i got both. And I disagree. 'indecent' exposure is grounds for being imprisoned (tho not for long... certainly not four years).
What you seem to say is: I, pro, personally believe indecent exposure is grounds for imprisonment, not society and its enforcers say indecent exposure is grounds for imprisonment.
It's the And I disagree. that trips me up.

Re: Gun Control
IF I created a weapon with the ability to kill all men within fifty kilometre radius, do you think you have the right to own it if I am selling? ..and by the same measure, do you think all wo/men have equal right to own this weapon?henry quirk wrote: ↑Sat Oct 28, 2023 11:38 pm ..whether, the law likes it or not, you still have a natural right to any property you choose...including a gun.
