John 1:1-14. "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him not even one thing came into being that has come into being. In Him was life, and the life was the Light of mankind. And the Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not grasp it....And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us; and we saw His glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth."

He inherited the trait off his Father, he named God, IC is a chip off the old block-head.

Yo, AJ!
No, really...
What is your take on the day that you die?
Leaving aside for now your more pedagogical assessments of Christianity...God and religion...how do you connect the dots existentially between the behaviors you choose on this side of the grave and what you imagine the fate of mere mortals to be on the other side?
Is there anything in the vicinity of a God, the God in your current frame of mind? How about Judgment Day? Immortality? Salvation? Moral Commandments? Sins?
And how do you anticipate things like race and ethnicity and sexual orientation factor into it?
And if you were really, really pressed to actually demonstrate empirically, experientially, experimentally, etc., that what you believe "in your head" is in fact true, how would you go about that?
In that "email course", of yours?
In fact, whenever I think of options like that I think of things like Scientology, NXIVM, the ARI, etc. Get enlightened by purchasing it from them.
That's not it, right?

Well in that case, it seems that plastic could well be the very substance that will thoroughly clean the planet for good, with no chance of becoming dirtied ever again.
Condoms, the ultimate pleasure that is human salvation.
The best a man can get. And women too.
Sorry kids, you are not involved in this clean up campaign, you've been spared the condemnation nation, thank thee mummy and daddy for that..

Should have worn a condom.

Of course they're here! What makes you think they ever left? The diversity of nut-jobs is greater than all the species the planet ever hosted.Alexis Jacobi wrote: ↑Mon Jun 26, 2023 1:53 am It’s all becoming clear. The angst, the confusion, the rage!

Re: Christianity
Some of us don't believe in all powerful beings that bring the universe into existence just by thinking about it. Some of us don't believe that there is an essence of ourself that is somehow independent of the physical body and goes on to live for eternity after death. Some of us don't believe that nature gives us property rights, or even a right to life. Some of us don't want to join sycophantic congregations of worshippers, and take part in strange rituals. This makes us nut jobs?Alexis Jacobi wrote: ↑Mon Jun 26, 2023 1:53 am It’s all becoming clear. The angst, the confusion, the rage!

I wouldn't mind taking part in strange rituals. Just sayin.
Re: Christianity
Have you considered taking up morris dancing? It has all the strangeness you could ask for, but without the requirement of believing in the ridiculous.promethean75 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 26, 2023 9:58 am I wouldn't mind taking part in strange rituals. Just sayin.
Unlike religion, you don't have to be bonkers to participate, you merely have to appear to be bonkers.

The nuttiest job of them all went mad and tried to tell everyone else to get mad too because he clings to EVERYTHING thinking it will save him from what is inevitable.
Give it a rest, AJ. You're overreacting. You're as much a philosophy tycoon trying to hold onto your knowledge as any business tycoon tries to hold onto his financial empire. Maybe learn to be human. That's my suggestion.

If the goal is to have fun, and Christianity isn't fun for you, then you can stop talking about Christianity and worrying about it ... just go dancing.Gary Childress wrote: ↑Mon Jun 26, 2023 11:59 amYes.
