Matthew 19:6: So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.

I assume this comic was made as a joke at the expense of more recent generations, but at the same time there could be something genuinely closer to the truth in it than more abstract meditative instructions. I like it for that reason. Like all good humour, it's only funny if it has some truth in it.

But that's just people thinking their words are perfect.
In the dream of separation only, there is apparent separation. And there is here, only the dream. There's no such thing as non-duality, because it's not a thing. It's the dream of separation.Iwannaplato wrote: ↑Sun Apr 09, 2023 7:40 pm
So, maybe that's why, on some level, so many yearn to merge someone, even sexually. To be one while also two. Perhaps God yearned for that. Or we did. Or even non-dualism felt even better when ALSO dualism.
And just what the hell is so funny? that's exactly what I keep asking when the giggles bubble up. I still haven't really figured it out, but it does feel good to laugh.Flannel Jesus wrote: ↑Sun Apr 09, 2023 8:16 pm I assume this comic was made as a joke at the expense of more recent generations, but at the same time there could be something genuinely closer to the truth in it than more abstract meditative instructions. While you are more than entitled to have your opinion on what image constitutes humour.Flannel Jesus wrote: ↑Mon Apr 10, 2023 1:00 pm I think it's the sort of boomer humour where they make fun of young people for being into technology more than real life
...which is ironic because the worst Facebook addicts I've ever seen were boomers
There are two types of images, analog and digital, used in medical imaging.
Analog images are the type of images that we, as humans, look at. They include such things as photographs, paintings, TV images, and all of our medical images recorded on film or displayed on various display devices, like computer monitors. What we see in an analog image is various levels of brightness (or film density) and colors. It is generally continuous and not broken into many small individual pieces.
Digital images are recorded as many numbers. The image is divided into a matrix or array of small picture elements, or pixels. Each pixel is represented by a numerical value.
The advantage of digital images is that they can be processed, in many ways, by computer systems.

Well, there it is: two. Not, 'the greatest thing is just to love.' But rather 'AND to be loved in return.'Dontaskme wrote: ↑Mon Apr 10, 2023 7:24 am In the dream of separation only, there is apparent separation. And there is here, only the dream. "The greatest thing you'll ever learn is just to love and be loved in return"
Wow, thanks for that quote. Hilarious irony.“ When I was a boy of 14 my father was so ignorant I could barely stand to have the old man around. But when I got to be 21, I was amazed how much he had learned in 7 years”. Mark Twain
I thought you'd have realised by now that Dam prefers to talk in nondual context.Iwannaplato wrote: ↑Thu Apr 13, 2023 5:32 amWell, there it is: two. Not, 'the greatest thing is just to love.' When the duality of Man/Woman is seen through to be the same one unconditional love. Man will love woman as himself, and woman will love man as herself. And mothers and fathers will love their children as themself. However, separation is a very powerful illusion. Where there is two, there will always be conflict and tension. Man and Woman have been trying for eons to describe in words what nature put together as a nondual reality, the apparent duality is seen as a dream. The 'mind' is a metaphor for every character in the dream, the mind being dual by it's very nature, albeit illusory. The mind that divides what is nondual, cannot be used to make what is indivisible by it's very nature.Greatest I am wrote: ↑Thu Apr 13, 2023 1:17 amGod puts together way too many wife beating ass holes to force women and their children to tolerate such God created misfit men.
Your God hates women. He is an ass hole.
Ignore my passion if you were just joking and not pushing such an immoral concept.
