That's not what was being said though....there is nowhere in that comment that Roy was saying he could change your viewpoint.
He is asking us all -because we are all under the influence of a cult leader- to abandon our current view of "reality", and replace it with the one he is presenting to us. That is what this thread is about; Roy is quite explicit in his intention to convince us to reject what we already have, and accept what he is offering us in its place. He is telling me that, if I cling onto my current "delusion", and reject his "truth", it is because of a failure in me.
Sorry this takes so long to explain Harbal...but I wish you patience and endurance while reading, and have no intention of boring you to death with my long winded reply... I'm just simply trying my best to explain the point of Roy's message.
We are all under the delusion of our culture as a collective hive mind. When you were born, you had no concept of the world into which you were born, you had no belief about it, nor did you even have an identity.
So what happened next?... as soon as you felt the urge in you to communicate with all the other people in your life...you then started to take on a knowledge that your parents were feeding you, including your school education. You became aware of knowledge, and this knowledge was passed onto you from other people and their beliefs about themselves and the world. You took those beliefs on as your own.
That's what Roy was pointing to when he mentioned CULT mentality.
I mean, you could have refused the identity/name given to you by your parents..you could have refused to have an education given to you by other people, you could have refused to have beliefs about anything that had been passed onto you by others. But you didn't did you, because you wanted to fit in with the collective hive mind, because you did not know any other way to be or act in the world you were born into. Remember, you were born into a system that was already set up by other people beliefs and ideas....that were never your own.
Roy's message is as old as time itself spoken by those who have delved deep into the notion of the SELF
It's pointing to the state of being prior to the indoctrination where knowledge was implanted into your brain, before that took place ...knowledge was absent in you.
Roy is the messenger of a message...which you the reader can accept or reject to be the truth. Your current mind-set is fixed due to your indoctrination.
But that which seems to be fixed, can be changed, because there is nothing fixed about anything we think about, everything can be changed...it can be wiped away completely back into the state that was prior to your indoctrination, the time where you were without knowledge of yourself.
Only you can change your mind about who you think you are. No one else can do that for you. Not Roy, or me.
You maybe happy being with the knowledge you have of yourself, or you may want to question the knowledge you have of yourself...but that's up to you,it's your job to know you.
Roy's message about suffering coming to an end is true. He is living testimony of that truth, and so am I
We can only offer that truth as a reality to someone else, but we can never make it true for them. They have to test it out for themselves, but only if they want to...if they are not interested in testing it, then that's fine, they do not have to.
If you have never suffered in your life anyway, then this message will be of no use to you, but if you have suffered and you would like that suffering to be no more, then the message will maybe of some use to you, but only if you put it to the test first.
The onus is always on you to change your mind about any knowledge pertaining to the nature of reality and the existence of yourself.
You are not a failure if you choose not to understand the message. But if you have ever suffered at any time in your life, there is a way to understand that the one who suffers can end it's suffering by a simple switch in perception, which is a change of mind...that's all, failure to be open to having your mind changed about anything you believe to be real, will keep you in your current mind-set, and that's ok...no one is forcing you to change your mind about anything, only you can do that.
