I wouldn't underestimate patience and diplomacy. We thought we had won the cold war when baby Bush invaded Iraq and he thought he could do whatever he wanted. Jump ahead almost 20 years and here we are eating humble pie. It'll happen to all the warmongers and saber rattlers. I believe God is watching over the world and will administer justice as needed. In the end, virtue and good will win. They always do. The ones who make the mistakes are the ones who upset the apple cart every time they feel threatened.iambiguous wrote: ↑Mon Feb 28, 2022 2:56 am From NYT:
'WASHINGTON — When Vladimir V. Putin declared Sunday that he was putting his nuclear forces into “special combat readiness” — a heightened alert status reminiscent of some of the most dangerous moments of the Cold War — President Biden and his aides had a choice.
They could match the move and put American forces on Defcon 3 — known to moviegoers as that moment when the Air Force rolls out bombers, and nuclear silos and submarines are put on high alert. Or the president could largely ignore it, sending out aides to portray Mr. Putin as once again manufacturing a menace, threatening Armageddon for a war he started without provocation.
For now, at least, Mr. Biden chose to de-escalate.'
Putin as Kennedy here and Biden as Khrushchev?

Re: Ukraine Crisis
That's not true. They had nowhere to go. Other 'holier-than-thou' countries like England and the US wouldn't take them, or only took a minuscule number of them. I think this piece of rock only took a paltry 200. It's not always possible to 'just leave' your country.RCSaunders wrote: ↑Mon Feb 28, 2022 3:39 amSome bruiser did. There's a difference between defense and belligerence. You apparently don't know what it is. You talk tough. I'd like to see you in the clutch.
Only an idiot fights when there is nothing to gain. You can have your bar fights and pretend that's bravery. I regard the one who knows the difference between what's important and what isn't and will make the right choice no matter what anyone else says or thinks about them the truly heroic.
Everyone wonders why the Jews didn't leave those countries during ww2 where the holocaust happened to them. Many did leave, but those who stayed and suffered believed the lie you are spreading--that it's a virtue to suffer and die for something when there is no possibility of winning, and even if you could win, you'd never know or enjoy it. That's not brave, it's stupid and produces lots of widows and orphans.

See, some of those folks believe there is sunthin' to gain, or keep, and you -- wrapped in your comforter in your cozy chair -- write them off.
'nuff said.

Okay.henry quirk wrote: ↑Mon Feb 28, 2022 3:07 amOne question, from you, only raises my interocular pressure...more than that bleeds me like a stuck pig.
But if you can NOT back up and support YOUR CLAIMS, then I suggest you just RELAX and REFRAIN from EXPOSING them.
Okay.henry quirk wrote: ↑Mon Feb 28, 2022 3:07 amCuz you're an autist: you can't help yourself. What do 'you' think or ENVISION would be the reason of WHY I write THE WAY I DO?
And the reason WHY you write your 'off-putting style' is because you can NOT help "yourself" either, correct?

I write the WAY I DO, just like 'you' write the WAY YOU DO.vegetariantaxidermy wrote: ↑Mon Feb 28, 2022 3:09 amBecause you can't help it. There might be some meds that could help, but I'm not sure which ones. Something for OCD?
And, if you can NOT help the WAY you write, then so be it. But if you think medication WILL HELP, then absolutely NO one is STOPPING 'you' from FINDING OUT.
Also, WHY do those who can NOT argue AGAINST what is SAID or CLAIMED resort to LOOKING AT other completely IRRELEVANT 'things'?

Virtue and good can ONLY, and DOES, win out. JUSTICE comes SOON ENOUGH. The MISTAKES made, are being OBSERVED over, are ALLOWED to be made. This is because it is from MISTAKES the BEST LESSONS can be LEARNED. 'you', adult human beings, are just VERY SLOW at LEARNING from YOUR MISTAKES. As PROVED True, ONCE AGAIN.

It was ALL RIGHT for 'you' to STEAL and KEEP what was NOT 'yours', but absolutely NO one is even allowed to just TOUCH 'your' so-called "stuff" because 'you' WOULD SHOOT 'them' DEAD if they did, and NO QUESTIONS ASKED either by the looks of things here.
Talk about the PRIMMEST EXAMPLE of GREED and SELFISHNESS.

Yet you said that you only write that way to annoy people. I write normally, with no affectations. If I write a word in capitals it means I'm emphasising that word. There's really no other way to do that in this format. Italics give a slightly different effect. You just randomly capitalise anything, for no apparent rhyme or reason. It makes your posts almost impossible to read. Reading shouldn't be hard work.Age wrote: ↑Mon Feb 28, 2022 4:19 amI write the WAY I DO, just like 'you' write the WAY YOU DO.vegetariantaxidermy wrote: ↑Mon Feb 28, 2022 3:09 amBecause you can't help it. You could always prove others wrong and write ten posts in a row with NO capitalised words-- just to show that you can do it. Simple really.

Re: Ukraine Crisis
I think Putin has had an argument with his girlfriend and he's taking it out on Ukraine. He might even start using his nuclear toys just to 'show her who's boss and what a big man he is'.
Actually this isn't at all far fetched. World leaders (especially despotic ones) are generally the most inadequate and shallow of creatures behind closed doors and out of the public eye.

Re: Ukraine Crisis
Ukraine is Putins love interest. But Ukraine wants to break off the relationship for good. Putin won't let go, and is now on a mission to hell. With nothing to lose, it's a case of hell has no fury like a man scorned. The world has only two options, allow Putin what he wants or we all die.vegetariantaxidermy wrote: ↑Mon Feb 28, 2022 9:39 am I think Putin has had an argument with his girlfriend and he's taking it out on Ukraine. Humans have done this to themselves, so we're all to blame. We cannot argue with a nuclear bomb, that we have created, we have created this mess, and only we as a whole united world human family can clean it up.
As long as we continue to create borders and division, there is no hope for humanity, that's just logical rational common sense, that we sadly do not seem to have right now.
Idiocrasy or intelligence is what we must choose. Sadly, I do not think humanity has evolved the amount of intelligence it takes to live in a free world for all. Well not yet, and time is running out.

“In a 2018 documentary, President Putin commented that ‘…if someone decides to annihilate Russia, we have the legal right to respond. Yes, it will be a catastrophe for humanity and for the world. But I'm a citizen of Russia and its head of state. Why do we need a world without Russia in it?’"

Putin has an agenda and that includes more than Ukraine.
Like Hitler, Putin appears unable, or lacking the desire to stop advancing along his chosen path, however risky it may look. What are you basing this ASSUMPTION on, EXACTLY?
Because "germany" invaded "poland" in 1939 and by 1941 "nazI" forces had occupied much of "europe", or for some other reason?
