Roe Vs Wade? God the greatest Abortionist.

Should you think about your duty, or about the consequences of your actions? Or should you concentrate on becoming a good person?

This isn't about being 'nice'.

Being principled doesn't make one intelligent, right, truthful, or mature... as you demonstrate.

Nor do principles mean anything of value if you're inconsistent and hypocritical in how you frame things for yourself vs. others... as you've just done in this thread.

Stop pretending like you have extraordinary principles and that other people don't.

Being principled doesn't mean anything if your principles are based on delusion.

Not at all. Jesus said, "Love your enemies..." He did not say, "Let the enemies of your neighbour destroy him." So it's one thing for a Christian to take the brunt himself, and quite another for him to allow his neighbour to be undefended against an attacker. So it's reasonable to ask if extenuation exists in the case of an alien attacker harming your countrymen and countrywomen.

But it has no relevance to abortion, of course. No such extenuation exists in the case of murdering your own innocent child.
Is this, killing your enemy, a part of his teaching? If He wanted to make an exception, killing your enemy, He would do it.
It says nothing about killing anyone, actually. It just says "Do not murder."

But I accept that while I have a right to "turn the other cheek," my own cheek, I have no right to "turn" yours; or to stand by and watch you get slaughtered by your enemy. So if you are in danger, it gets more complicated to say what my duty is. I think it's to do as much as I can to prevent you from being hurt by your enemy.

I'm pretty sure you think so, too.
What I think is not what He thinks.

You haven't demonstrated anything rational, so imagining that you're cornering anyone is absurd.

Perhaps. But I doubt that, if I could do otherwise, you would want me to leave you to the tender mercies of your enemies (assuming somebody sometime would wish you ill) would you?

A couple of folks here (and a few in RL) made it damn clear they wouldn't want my help in dire circumstances: I'd honor their wishes.

Couldn't Jesus bring an army from Heaven to demolish the Roman empire? Of course, you think He could. Instead, He preferred to get crucified. You don't agree with the approach of Islam I think. Do you?

I'm not sure of your point. He protected all his followers except for Judas, and did so by sacrificing Himself, not them. So again, my point is that one may nobly sacrfice oneself; one has no such liberty to ignore the welfare of others.

"Approach" to what?

But back to abortion: what has all this got to do with that?

That might be what happens if they refuse help. What's good is that you'd offer it if they'd take it. And I think you would.

You're annoyed...because you know I'm right. So it's not "my" beliefs alone, nor am I "pushing" anything on you: I'm reminding you of what your own conscience has been saying to you all along.

You know I'm right. And you know that voice is also right.

What is it Henry, you know how to quote properly, is that a ploy - not as bad as your mate I.C. cold that manipulates and distorts chops to suit his prejudiced view of humanity as if it was Christ's view?

No, the intruder made the choice to risk his life enterin' a stranger's home, at 3am, without permission.

The bad is entirely on him.
Er, the love of his family don't count, since will be suffering for the rest of their lives. THAT is why God did say "Thou shalt not murder."

henry quirk wrote: Tue Dec 14, 2021 11:16 pmAlso: I said, I'd shoot if neccessary, not first thing. I've been in this position in RL. What I did was give the three opportunity to leave, empty-handed. They did. If they hadn't I absolutely would have shot them. And that was when I was alone. Today: I have a 15 year old. If someone breaks in, and I have the choice of preservin' my kid's life or sparin' strangers the misery of livin' without their reckless, criminal brother or husband, they'll suffer.
You do know 15 is under the legal limit right?

atto wrote:You've mention he has a SOUL right? Why not allow God to have that SOUL back for your careless mistake and re-pop it into a foetus where it could be given far more love, indeed a much better life.
I don't believe it's my, or your, place, to take that life: it doesn't belong to me or you (or even God). It belongs to the person inside his mother.
But you are NOT taking a life - the 'person' has a SOUL. That 'mother' may have been raped, what then.

attofishpi wrote: Tue Dec 14, 2021 2:57 amHow does someone that knows God, talk?
Well, here's what Peter, who walked and talked with Jesus said about how He talked:
"For you have been called for this purpose, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, so that you would follow in His steps, He who committed no sin, nor was any deceit found in His mouth; and while being abusively insulted, He did not insult in return; while suffering, He did not threaten, but kept entrusting Himself to Him who judges righteously..." (1 Peter 2: 21-23)
Christ - God - was of course of no sin - HE made the concept - pretty certain he wouldn't deceive himself, if you knew my footsteps from beating up bullies of girls on an England council estate to now, pretty sure I don't give a fuck what you think, but know Christ finds me ok enough to drop a few words in.
I speak no deceit...

...and getting back to the point - I talk with a righteous mouth from a true heart, nothing you quoted there supports any claim that Christ would not talk to one such as me - that calls out the likes of you for what YOU truly are:-

You are heartless. You would be ruthless if you didn't believe someone was watching over you. Whereas, ALL the atheists I know are decent people, thus are of a FAR better ethical standard and more worthy of Christ than you.

EG.
Immanuel Can wrote:But if I knew I was wrong, and thus, if I were an Atheist, I would know that no moral constraints remain upon we at all, and would very likely take full advantage of that fact, I think.
I suppose I would despise those who held back, and continued to believe in morality. I might regard it as a badge of courage, and certainly as opportunistically necessary, to get myself ahead at all costs.
(atto: - therein is your true 'heart')

Immanuel Can wrote: Tue Dec 14, 2021 6:18 amAnd here's what people who heard Him speak said:

"...all the people were speaking well of Him, and admiring the gracious words which were coming from His lips..." (Luke 4:22)

As for his actual words, they are recorded in four gospels. You can look at any of them and judge whether or not your speech is like His.
Well, of course I don't speak like Christ, from 2000 years ago, me growing up on a council estate where wit and a shit ton of a bad tongue pertmitted some form of respect ...also there are more 'gospels' than that, apparently Judas' is a bit of a mess, but the four I think you refer to, I read many moons ago. So 2000 years later, growing up on an English council estate where wit and nasty words would have the likes of you cowering, you think is HOW I am not worthy of Christ talking to me.

I got so much more to say, and still haven't covered what the entity God, I've called a less Christian than the shit that comes out of my arse (whilst in Hell) wants me to state.

I am a rock between what is it? Atheism and Evangelism.
This IS WISDOM:- the sage told me way back in 1997 that crying is how we show our love.

Since then, I did real eyes how true that is, and ever since have always been amazed by 'crocodile tears' - but so often when on TV these liars are just wiping away air.

There is so much more I have to say about who the likes of a person God-Christ-Sage would talk to...but cbf

This is what was insisted I post to you and your Evangelist ilk. (of course had I wrote it 2000yrs ago in some buy_bull you may have paid attention)
Whilst sat on my porch thinking of you and your ilk and considering whether you are distorting Christ's message, I was tapped heavily on my right knee - as in RIGHT.

So.

You could cease throwing the stones you are casting or not. Maybe wise up and talk to those of your ilk, to do so also.
