That's a ridiculous false dichotomy. It has nothing to do with community security...unless you think that government cannot possibly be wanting to do, or doing, anything contrary to your interests or the interests of the community, which is clearly untrue. Government has its own reasons for being, its own objectives, and its own uses for you. Unless you want be helpless and exposed on every front, you'd best preserve some privacy.Greatest I am wrote: ↑Tue Dec 08, 2020 7:16 pm What kind of secrete about people do you think important enough for you to that you would put personal secrets above your community's security?

You make a good religionist. They let fear override their moral sense towards community as well.

Heh.
But since you say you believe it's either personal secrets or public safety, answer these questions: what's your real name? Where do you live? Who are your friends and with whom do you meet...even accidentally? Where do you spend your money? How much of it do you have? Where were you last week? What advertising convinces you to buy? What are your personal, private practices...? All these things, the government will have access to.
And if you don't want everyone to know these things, why would you want the government to know them? Don't you believe in public security?

I'm suggesting, actually just saying, maybe we are not as smart as we'd like to think we are.Greatest I am wrote: ↑Tue Dec 08, 2020 6:56 pm
Without it, we could not trade as easily and the carnage you name would be even more common.

How about making everything free, and live like animals do, notice they don't have to pay to live.
It's our refusal to accept that we are just animals that make us dumber than them.
Notice the planet was here long before we arrived. Notice all our basic requirements that are needed to sustain us already existed before we harvested everything. Everything belongs to all of us. So why are we charging money for the earths already provided resources that were here long before we even arrived?
And why do we need a passport to get into a piece of our own planet?
We don't trust each other that's why, and that is why life as a human being is stupid and dumb.

As to your last, animals pay heavily in lives to live. They die when food is scarce, or freeze if the weather catches them unprepared, while we plan ahead.

Equal? Not at all. I'm much more safe than giving your information to the government. My power is much more limited than theirs.
I notice you didn't answer my questions, though: don't you care about community safety?
You're caught. Give it up...or don't, it doesn't matter anymore. Send all your info to the government...you trust them.

I'm just saying we could make life easier for ourselves with much more thought put into our ability to prep.Greatest I am wrote: ↑Wed Dec 09, 2020 7:43 pmYou fit your first remark. We could make energy free for everyone. After all, it's a natural resource already provided and available within the earth. We should ensure everyone is warm and comfortable in their home with plenty of free electricity, and gas. People should not have to live in fear of never having those most basic and vital life sustaining commodities because of lack of money. Without which we are at the mercy of the weather just like the animals paying a heavy price. And some people are just poor through perhaps no fault of their own.
As long as we make sure everyone has got the basic needs - we can then simplify the rest of our lives by making our furniture to last years and years, rather than just 1 week then it falls to bits. Same with all our basic appliances, make them last for years and years. Then we can grow our own fruit and veg in a united communal cooperative sort of way. There's so many simple changes we can make so we are all cared for equally.
But as long as we continue with the mentality that hardships are not happening to me,and that poverty and depravation is not happening to me personally, then we can just ignore it happening to others, that's basically how humans live their lives. . . reality is, we as a world, are just digging a hole for ourselves that we may never be able to get out of, by getting deeper and deeper into debt, through a mindless greed for constant material consumption and gratification... leading to a financial economic crash. And then the governments and those in power will use the pandemic and the vaccine as an excuse as to why the economy crashed.
There must be a better way, that's all. I'm making a difference, I'm downsizing everything about my life, almost to the point of zero minimalism.

But just think how many might lose their jobs if people were to minimalise.

In a consumer based environment like ours, not buying does not help the economy.
As to your views on how bad things are, look again statistically for the first time, and note how good things are.

The problem is not lack of wealth or our monetary system. The problem is having the rich put more flow into the economy.

Indeed. Cash changing hands is how the economy is intended to work and hoarding is not god for cash flow.commonsense wrote: ↑Thu Dec 10, 2020 4:01 pm But just think how many might lose their jobs if people were to minimalise.

If you are in a situation to hoard money, then why not give it to the poor/charity?Greatest I am wrote: ↑Thu Dec 10, 2020 5:05 pmGreatest I am wrote: ↑Thu Dec 10, 2020 4:55 pmIndeed.
