Ah yes... simple words and simple thoughts you repeat over and over like your hero Trump... as if you're saying so much more than you actually are, and as if you are the voice of profound reason among everyone else.
Please, feel free to not wash up, hug everyone, delete your doc's # from your contacts, camp out on the state house steps and wait for handouts, and panic.

As I say: If, in scarin' populations, one can get a better grip on folks, well, scare the hell out of 'em.
And we could end up with a 'tighter grip' on us than we ever would have thought possible.
That's what I'm sayin', that's it exactly.

The resulting chaos will ensure the death of hundreds of millions of people (conservatively) including all the old people the shutdown has supposedly 'saved', because they will be unable to get their massive supply of medications. Same with those in all the 'at risk' groups and anyone else who depends on medication for their survival.
Is it because so many of the world's 'leaders' are in the 'at risk' age group ahem Trump ?
Simply: the power-hungry will never let a crisis (real, inflated, or fake) pass without takin' advantage of it.

If, in scarin' populations, one can get a better grip on folks, well, scare the hell out of 'em.

Carona is perfect for this: pernicious and novel, it's a boogeyman to frighten the rabble and, in democracies, get folks to agree to restrictions and limits and controls which, once in place, will stay in place, crisis or no crisis.

End of April can't get here fast enough.
The world's economy and so-called 'civilised' society is extremely fragile at the best of times.
Politicians are putting everything at risk for something that is little deadlier than seasonal flu. Many people get no symptoms at all. If they send us hundreds of years backwards then all those elderly will die anyway. No one in the 'at risk' groups will be able to get their medications.
if a truly deadly plague comes along then there will be nothing we can do because humanity had played all its cards over this. Hundreds of millions (at least) of people will die in the resulting chaos. It simply makes no sense. And when you complain you get jumped on as 'insensitive' and 'immoral' towards the sacrosanct elderly. More fucking PC and a result of the stupid, short-sighted, shallow world of social media. No one is capable of thinking things through any more. I hope you are right about it 'blowing over' by April, although it doesn't seem likely. Blown UP perhaps.
How a society regards its weakest members reflects its character.

I'm glad you think it's ok that women can't get formula to feed their babies. Unsurprising though. Shallow hypocrisy is the default PC position.

But isn't chaos and 'jungle law' what you have always hankered after? Ironically 'no control' inevitably becomes 'total control'.

All Henry is saying is that you should rely on hand hygiene and social distancing and not wait for the government to provide protection against the virus.

It bears repeating because it does say more.

It really is that simple. Henry has spelled out professional healthcare workers’ mainstay of infection prevention and control in a nutshell.

Seriously, can you be any more dishonest and stupid? Focusing on one issue or another that you can rant about is lame and lazy. As if you're taking up causes or doing a damn thing yourself to help anyone. If mothers who need formula are your target group today, GO HELP THEM or shut the fuck up!

Then why isn't everything shut down every winter, when hundreds of thousands of 'the weakest' die from seasonal flu? You seriously think this is about 'compassion for the weakest'? All of a sudden politicians don't care about the economy? Give me a break.

I crave minarchy, not anarchy; what carona may be used for is not workin' toward minimal governance but to encourage anarchy which is the pretext to enact tyranny.

In a philosophical forum, do you think it's necessary to continually repeat the same phrase over and over (which he did 4-5 pages ago) to everything that someone says? It's lazy! He repeats what he says because that's how small and patterned his thinking is, and he seems to fancy himself as the voice of reason regardless of other views. There's no need to repeat that over and over.

Hysterically laughing! There's nothing wrong at all...except, of course, for all the mothers who can't get formula. Your ability to zero in on things that you can use to tear into everyone with your fangs is just fascinating (for maybe 2 seconds).
