Oh please, there was a worldwide so-called 'boom' in the 1980s which all came crashing down in 1987--WHILE he was president. Reagan was president during the 'greed is good' years. It was an artificial 'economic boom' that had nothing to do with general standard of living. Worldwide interest rates were through the roof. All it did was create lots of millionaires in a short space of time (and 'uncreated' them even quicker )
This is the kind of crap that mis-nomered 'neo-liberalism' inflicts on populations. People think that because there are more millionaires then the country in general must be doing well. This country suffered through a 'neo-liberal' Govt. for 9 horrible years. It was referred to as a 'rock star' economy for fuck sake, yet when they took over there were essentially NO homeless people here and by the time they left office there were tens of thousands (one of the worst in the developed world) and the next Govt. inherited the biggest debt by a long shot in our history.
