Choice is of the born which you cannot choose to be.
But I am born. Therefore choice is for me.
Are you tripping up over a mere paradox again?
Knowing you are born is knowledge.
You can only know you are born through the knowledge that informed you. There is no way you can tell yourself you are born. The knowledge you have of yourself comes from knowledge itself which is fiction, knowledge is a secondary reality upon you that is already here not-knowing.. of which there is no knowledge of no knowledge .

I didn't know that until I learned about the birds and the bees. When I was 5, I was told that the stork brought me.

Or by learning how babies come into being. If you have any kids and you don't know how making babies works - I have some bad news for you...

This is me telling myself that I am born.
There! I just told myself. I guess that's one way...

Being born is to birth as choosing is to choice.
You are confusing an event (your birth) with your capability for choosing.
Just so long as you are brightly aware - you can't reason your way out of that one with logic, because all logic depends on choice and hence the foundational problem to all problems is the decision problem.

Choice is of the born which you cannot choose to be.
Whilst it is true that you can choose being dead, you can only make that choice after being born.
You can only choose to be dead because you believe you are here to make that choice of being dead which is not really a real choice since you cannot choose to be born.
Birth and Death are concepts / knowledge. A knowledge that is non-existent prior to your assumed birth, and none existence after your assumed death. Your whole existence is born of knowledge which is a fiction albeit a real fiction as believed.

If you already exist why do you have to tell yourself you exist?
Because you said that there is "no way" I can do it. So I demonstrated otherwise.
Yes, but all that is happening is there is a not-knowing imposing a knowing upon not-knowing. Knowledge informs the illusory nature of a knowing knower.
Skepdick wrote: ↑Sat Aug 31, 2019 2:18 pmI didn't really need to tell myself that I exist. I needed to show you that I can tell myself that I exist.
You don't even have to show another that you exist if you already know you exist. And if you already know you exist then so will I
You believe I exist only because you exist.
Skepdick wrote: ↑Sat Aug 31, 2019 2:18 pmI could also tell myself that I don't exist. I am merely demonstrating that language is inconsequential.
You can tell yourself you don't exist, but you can never experience that knowledge.

How can you show that you can do squat without being able to do squat?
False equivalence.
What was claimed that I can't do a squat. So I did one in doing so demonstrating that the claim as wrong.
I can talk to myself out loud. I can talk to myself in my head. Hence demonstrating that the claim "There is no way you can tell yourself you are born." as being false. There are at least two ways in which I can tell myself that I am born.
Whichever way you look at it, I can say anything I want about myself.
