Ignorance is bliss. This has been shown by the correlation between years of education and incidence of depression.
You cannot be ignorant and yet claim to have knowledge. If you know you are born, then you cannot be ignorant of that fact.

Yes of course you have the choice to not be here, you cannot make a choice unless you are here to make it.
Even though you yourself did not choose to be here. So just who is making the choices?
Some times me. Some times not me.

Just because I haven't killed myself does not mean suffering does not bother me.
It's not bothering you enough to do anything other than talk about it, so then the choice you have to make is "What do you SAY about suffering? Whose words shall you use to speak about suffering?"
Do you say what the Stoics say, or do you say what the Epicureans say?
Do you use Stoic words, or Epicurean words?

Just because I haven't suggested one doesn't mean I haven't got one.
So you have no idea of whether I am lying about it or not, this is just an assumption you are making.
You haven't acted upon it. That's enough to infer that "the solution" bothers you more than "the problem".
I'm acting on the solution right now in the making of this thread topic. The solution doesn't bother me at all, how could it, how can a solution to a problem be bothersome, you are making no sense.
Skepdick wrote: ↑Sat Aug 31, 2019 1:20 pmYou prefer "the problem". That's a choice.
That's just your assumption, it doesn't make it vaild or true in any way. You have no knowledge that I prefer the problem as a choice, you are the one making the inference here not me.

Choice is for the born.
Dontaskme wrote: ↑Sat Aug 31, 2019 12:26 pm
If you had the choice to be born or not which choice would you choose?
If I had the choice I am already born.
The choice you present is a lie. The real choice is to remain born or to die.
I also did not choose to be short, but to be short is neither a choice of the short nor the un-short. How ludicrous is it to think that being born is different?

A 'me' can never not be 'me'
A 'me' is knowledge, it is known. There is no knowledge of no knowledge.

Suffering is a feeling, how do you put the feeling of suffering into words? I will use the words I know to speak about suffering.

Because it is different. You can't choose a being a different height. You can choose being unborn.

I only use the words I know.
The same way everybody else does it. Learn another language.

You say "suffering" - I say "learning".
I'm talking about suffering here, not learning, you do not learn to suffer, suffering is a feeling.

How does one have the capacity to make a choice before being born?
I did not choose to be left-handed before being born. Alas, I am not.

Yes, but those choices are only available to you after being born.
