It could have been much worse -- the shooter targeting a school with children would have been much worse.
Sandy Hook was much worse even though fewer children died.
Columbine was much worse as well for the same reason.
Children are innocent and they expect us to protect them until they are at least old enough to protect themselves.
When children die all of society has failed them.
When gays and lesbo's die at a gay/lesbo night club after midnight that is sad too -- the hate is sad -- but they took that chance when they went out and stayed out late.
Early to bed and early to rise keeps you alive in many cases like this one.
