Well that's nice for you: being right.

I usually am. It's a shame everybody wanted to be dickheads. Maybe I was more willing to spell it out elsewhere. The OP just seemed so crystal clear to me. Anyway, cheers (get it?)!

Pretty well, although I am still fussier than I need to be about wrong info. Old habits die hard.

Glad that JS turned out to be right, although I suspect the marker was a tad generous. Looks like a game - make prima facie controversial statements (that are just commonsense) without proper explanation and then complaining about the predictable replies.

I think I either offended or confused a lot of you. I apologize. I think perhaps a better example would be shopping or video games.

So what do we normally call prayer and worship, if not prayer and worship? By what criteria is alcohol an idol?

I think your timing is a bit off, the alcohol boat sailed quite some time ago. It went on to sink without trace, by the way, so it's just as well you missed it.

Even the most rabid megalomaniac does not pray to wealth.

Not exactly. The only way anyone took it seriuosly was in as much as they may have offered a serious explanation as to why it didn't make any sense. The rest just sort of looked on with amusement.

St. Paul called it one in his epistles.
