That's not the same thing. Counter-culture has an element of unlearning in it.Hobbes' Choice wrote: Impossible.

Try this. Think of a pink teddy bear, with a bow tie for 20 seconds.

Forget that bear!

Nah. It is a system of denial, and counter learning. not un-learning.Jaded Sage wrote:That's not the same thing. Counter-culture has an element of unlearning in it.Hobbes' Choice wrote: Impossible.

I think they might be the same thing from where I am. Suppose you have an accent, and then you learn not to. That is what I mean by learning. I mean getting closer to being a cosmopolitan, here meaning a citizen of nowhere in particular instead of a citizen of everywhere.Hobbes' Choice wrote:Nah. Learning is about growing. I can still do my accent from childhood, I do posh, and I do American. Learning is additive and progressive. Part might be pruned for new growth buy the the tree accumulates wood nonetheless.Jaded Sage wrote:I think they might be the same thing from where I am. You can't unbreak a vase, and you can't un-learn. It's just an abuse of language to say other wise.
