Oh! And Hawking can't as so far there is no TOE and they're beginning to think that the only one they'll get is a composite of various theories but no ultimate one.

At best we can find how the universe is I think. The answer to the question 'Why are we here?' is 'Why or what am I here for?' or 'What do I want?'In finding why the universe is, in it's entirety, we find the universal/absolute of why we are here, as they are one in the same.
