I think we are fortunate enough to be alive at a ground zero of sorts of the most unbelievably amazing cusp of humanity.
Perhaps we are all to close to the explosion to really be able to conceive or understand the revolution within our mitts.
Think about it...but don't think too long about it.
Matter of fact don't think too long about any one subject.
Because there is an avalanche of information that is coming at us every moment of our waking lives.
There is no other time in the history of humanity that the fulcrum of images, distant sounds, and the tornado of information have weighed so heavily.
This unbridled revolution of science, belief and information stirs within us even as we sleep.
For now we see the stirrings of this revolution changing every aspect of what we used to know of our business and leisure.
But I believe, in the longer run, the most important aspect of this world-wide sharing of information will be philosophical in nature.
Our understanding of what we consider to be self will become necessarily more transparent. More fluid.
I don't want to sound mysterious but this vision may not be suited for all - all at once.
I cannot share or import this understanding that I have immediately upon others here at the Philosophy Now Forums but this concept of transparency is a concept that may take time to become comfortable within each of us.
I remember an article by Alyssa Rosenberg recently. Within this article artist David Bowie envisioned the total collapse of a music market in a world without copyright.
Already this post is way longer than I am comfortable with but this is the footprint of a most important philosophical theme that I will be developing here at times here in the Philosophy Now Forums.
Thank you for this opportunity for me to begin to express some meaningful philosophical concepts that, I believe, will become increasingly important to us as philosophers here at the most important philosophical forum on the planet.
