Happy Spammer Day

Post by Gary Childress »

Happy birthday to the spammer who created over a dozen meaningless screen names over the course of a couple of years and ascribed them all as having been born 36 years ago today. Rest assured, you've made a significant contribution to making the Internet a worse place than it could be without you on it. Congratulations! The world would be a better place without you.

Huh? That's quite beyond my purview, but it does sound important, perhaps even quite serious.

Hi Gary, yes well spotted. The spammer was clearly too lazy to change the "birthday" field in theor software. I deleted half a dozen of the accounts but ran out of time to do the rest. However, I did block the internet address they were all registered from over that two or three year period. It was the same in every case - no surprise there. Probably blocking it was a meaningless gesture as I'm sure that the lazy sod eventually changed his internet provider.
