Some so-called 'dean paradox' is destroyed with and by actual Facts.

If it is claimed, 'logic insists that between two points lies an infinite set of divisions, making it "impossible" to traverse from start to end. Yet, in practice, the finger does move from the beginning to the end in finite time', then 'that claim' is False, Wrong, Inaccurate, and Incorrect, from the outset.

'Logic', itself, does not insist any thing.

Through, using 'logic', itself, human beings can conclude that it is possible to traverse, although, because human beings already knew this, anyway, they would not have even needed to use 'logic', itself, to work out and conclude that it would not matter how many sets of divisions there were.

Paradoxes belong to belief, or thought, and are not actually found anywhere other than as the concept itself.

NOT just "through experience. That "Deans paradox" is simply error. He has (mistakebly) assumed that the sum of an infinite set of terms is infinite. Not necessarily so. It depends on how fast the terms are decreasing in size.
Thus 1/2 + 1/4 + 1/8 + 1/16 + ....... is finite
But 1/2 + 1/3 + 1/4 + 1/5 + ........ is not

So express the TIME to cross each of those divisions as a series and decide if that is an infinite sum or a finite sum. (it will be finite)

I am not sure why my username was quoted, here. As I was not saying, nor meaning, absolutely any thing in regards to any of the words that were written in response, here. But, anyway.

I quoting from your post. That is why your username is quoted. Are you experiencing some sort of dissociative incident? Do we need to get you a doctor?

Is FlashDangerpants your real character, or your fictional character? 😂 Or, are you experiencing some sort of dissociation identity disorder? 🤔😵‍💫

Actually Flash Dangerpants is the ... shall we say hero?... of a comic book I never finished drawing. He licks the whipped cream of justice from tyranny's quivering earhole. It's all rather majestic.

Obviously.

Just as obvious.
FlashDangerpants wrote: Tue Sep 30, 2025 1:54 pm Are you experiencing some sort of dissociative incident?
I do not think so. Do you think or believe I am?
FlashDangerpants wrote: Tue Sep 30, 2025 1:54 pm Do we need to get you a doctor?
I will let you decide this all on your own.

Since I never said, nor meant, absolutely any thing in regards to any of what you said, and wrote, in your response, nor about "zeno's" paradox at all, I was, and still am, unsure why 'you' quoted 'me', and 'my words', exactly.

In other words I have no idea nor clue as to why you are quoting from my post.

And, if you do not want to explain, then okay.

I just saw that there was this thread about a 'dean paradox' that seems to describe as if new something that is actually a couple of thousand years old and written by Zeno, not Dean.

I now realise who the Dean is question is though. It seems Australia's leading erotic poet Colonic Celery Dean has been at the drinks cabinet again, so the source of the weirdness is now obvious. Why he thinks his paradox isn't Zeno's I don't really care to investigate.

I also don't know why anybody else would open a thread to discuss the maddened ramblings of a drunken Australian schizo, but I suppose it isn't the first time that has happened. So you go right ahead and do whatever the hell it is that you are up to today. Have fun.
