In the Orient, “Know Thy Self” was taken up at around the same time by Tao, Hindu, and Buddhist thinkers, who consequently investigated ever since the mind and developed innumerable methods and techniques to further its Self-realisation.

I would argue that the recipe for our orientation is experience, the understanding of that experience, and thus the finding of meaning, which is then projected or bestowed upon a meaningless world. Know thyself is realized through the insight of, thou art that, you are all that you perceive, and you relate to all you perceive, and when at times you can lose yourself, in that, it is a divine moment. To me, self-realization is this moment out of time.
