Christianity, sex in exchange for half your assets. Really?

Is there a God? If so, what is She like?

I am not signing over half my assets to anyone, and certainly not just for some sex.

No other religion has ever invented that kind of bullshit.

Christianity is truly a religion by the imbeciles for the imbeciles.

That's some strapline. Clever advertising. The 'Really?' makes it sound amazing, too good to true, but nonetheless true!, worth the price. But no deal, thanks. Not even at two for the price of one.

WTF? Not a vote in favor of Christianity (and I'm not a Christian) but we can document "marriage" LONG before Christianity existed. Nor is it any part of Christianity that assets divided that way. You don't have too far back in the history of Christian marriage to find the man got to control all his wife's assets.

But since you want to focus on Christianity, look at the pre-Christian parts of the scriptures they appropriated. You don't see marriage? Marriage contracts? Specifications about divorce settlement?

PS --- If you have a little background in anthro, you would recognize that the earliest period described in the Bible the culture was uxorilocal (the guy moved in with HER folks, normally). So if he split with her, left all "his" assets behind except they were her assets, not his. Note Gen 2: 24 "That is why a man will leave his father and mother and will be united with his wife, and they will become one flesh".
