The man cannot win either way - he also neither can ask "should we keep this". The man cannot ask - is BEING scorned by people simply not superior to him. (Such things CAN be verified)
The man indicated in this example has won in my opinion. The people surrounding him are EVIL TOO MUCH.
Not a normal situation, as the man has done NOTHING WRONG.
