The End of My Usefulness
I've outlived my usefulness. These days, all I'm able to do is turn resources into waste products. Or start arguments.
Re: The End of My Usefulness
But, Gary, the ability to start arguments is exactly the talent needed on a philosophy forum.Gary Childress wrote: ↑Wed Jul 17, 2024 1:57 pm I've outlived my usefulness. These days, all I'm able to do is turn resources into waste products. Or start arguments.![]()

Thank you, Harbal. I appreciate the sentiment. Coming to the realization of how far I am behind the world, just makes me want to lay my head down on my pillow and give up. I've made my bed. Time to sleep in it.Harbal wrote: ↑Wed Jul 17, 2024 2:17 pmBut, Gary, the ability to start arguments is exactly the talent needed on a philosophy forum.Gary Childress wrote: ↑Wed Jul 17, 2024 1:57 pm I've outlived my usefulness. Horseshit.
You wanna be useful?
Get a black garbage bag, the heavy duty kinda, and go clean litter off your street.
When in public, hold the door for the old, the young, hell, for anyone.
Say thank you to the check out person, even if she's a drone.
Smile.
Do a kindness -- nuthin' extravagant or costly -- without expectation of compensation.
Bring doughnuts to work, for the crew, just because you can.
You can be useful, everyday, if you wanna be.

I'm a sociopath. I've spent most of my life (starting with elementary school) about as isolated as a person can be. Everything I touch turns to shit. I don't want to touch anything anymore.henry quirk wrote: ↑Wed Jul 17, 2024 2:40 pmHorseshit.

Sociopathy is a bullshit word made up by atheistic, materialistic shrinks to explain away that which they cannot accept, that being: evil.
You're not evil. You do, like a lot of folks, aid & abet evil, but you aren't evil.
You, in other words, choose to be useless. Change your mind, make a different choice.I've spent most of my life (starting with elementary school) about as isolated as a person can be. Everything I touch turns to shit. I don't want to touch anything anymore.

No light, requires darkness. Therefore, removing No from light also removes darkness. This is because No concerning now hinges on past experience. Although now can be similar to past experience, now is not past experience. Therefore, yes allows one the light of knowing where fools rush in, a movement out of stillness that in theory, if one survives, cures both the darkness of ignorance, and foolishness, although such a knowing didn’t seem to cure Evil Knievel's foolishness, which indicates that he liked it.

Even this can be corrupted, seeing as how Dexter Morgan always took donuts to work.henry quirk wrote: ↑Wed Jul 17, 2024 2:40 pmHorseshit.

However, when not corrupted by cleverness, the advice is quite profound because of the unforeseeable consequences of doing these things, of service, that one can't really know until after taking that leap.

But there just has to be more, because …
“The road to hell is paved with good intentions.”
Wise words which indicate that not all Biden fans are anarchists.
Neither were the divinely inspired founding fathers anarchists, seeing as how they provided an alternative, rather than just the nothingness of anarchy created by those who grab power, simply for the sake of power over others.
