is the need to express ourselves... we do this in a wide variety of ways,
ART being one of them... but humans aren't the only ones
who need to express themselves... we just got an older cat,
the cat is still getting used to us and usually hides in the back bedroom....
but about once a day, the cat comes out and sits about 5 feet away
from and mows to us for 5 minutes straight... he has things to say..
and when he is done... he turns around and goes back to the bedroom...
and this why ART is so important to children... it offers them a means to
express themselves without words..... oftentimes, words get in the way
of our expressing ourselves and we turn to ART.....music for example,
is a means of expression that works with or without words...
as I avoid music with words, I tend to listen to music with no words...
music can explain our emotions without words getting in the way.....
On this website, we express ourselves with, mostly rational discourse..
as should be proper on a philosophy website... as very and I mean very
few minds are ever changed around here, it is mostly a means of
expressing oneself....
My wife can tell if I don't express myself in some philosophical manner,
on a philosophy website...
she says, and I quote, "you become a grouch''
and she is right..... I am much calmer when I can express myself
philosophically especially with some sort of interactions...
expressing myself is one way I keep myself level... calm...
so, how do you express yourself and why this method instead of another?
