that there is a foundation in philosophy is found in one
primary sentence...

that the foundation of philosophy lies with finding the:

''self-evident, universal, first principles'' of existence''


and from that discovery, we can work out the entire point
of philosophy/life... and an example of this is this statement:

"there is a god"

and we can work out all the rest of the details of existence
from this one statement that is: ''self-evident, universal, first
principle"

and the vast majority of philosophy has been to work out this,
''self-evident, universal, first principle"

there is a god,
there is death,
there is life,
there is nothing,
all is illusion,
the subjective,
the objective,
politics,
dialectal materialism,
the search for profits/money,
truth,
there is no god,
existence is the search for beauty,
all we need is love,

and in context, it stands to reason that some of these, if not several
of these are actually part of the "self-evident, universal, first principle"
but in context... not as part of a solo statement, that is ''self-evident,
universal, first principle" for which statement is actually
"self-evident'' or ''universal'' or a ''first principle''...

this is why our dependence on ism's like Catholicism or communism
or capitalism, flounders... because I cannot see any of these ism's
being "self-evident" or ''universal" or a ''first principle"....

so, should we abandon our search for what we believe to be
"self-evident, universal, a first principle"... I think so....
let us work with what is before our eyes... that there is no
such thing as a universal, that is self-evident, that is a first
principle.... what we have is an ''ad hoc" idea
of the universe....for the universe and all the things within
the universe, is temporary, full of change, nothing last forever,
as they say....the time frame for some changes may be shorter or
longer than what we want or expect, but it is there.....
the very earth itself has gone through dramatic and
drastic changes...as has our moon and the sun and all
the planets and the stars and even the galaxies themselves
have been born, changed and then someday, they too will
die.. just like us.....the only difference is the time frame....
we are years, the stars are millions, if not billions of years....
and the planet, who knows?

what if, what if we are just the latest universe to come into
existence.. we might have hundreds if not millions of
universe now in existence or have been in the existence,
both in the past and coming into existence...
we don't know and we will never know....

within every new universe, comes new conditions and new physics,
and new life....

just as I am a human being, one of millions stretching back into time
and just as surely, stretching into the future...and then one day,
perhaps, a new species will arise and declare themselves, as we did,
the mightiest that has ever existed.. just one of millions, if we only
knew....

and in this vastness of time, can we discover what is the foundational
statement of the universe, or can we find the "self-evident, universal,
first principle" of everything that will apply to past, present and the
future?

I doubt it... does that mean we don't try? no, that means we
become aware of what it means to search for that elusive
answer to the question, what is the foundational question of
the universe?

that covers everything known and unknown?

We all need to talk to one another. How else are people able to do that if not through words with which to guide thought which leads to deeds? Or is everyone on the planet going to just guess what each other is doing and thinking? Should we dispense with language? I don't deny that language doesn't have problems and that lying doesn't happen, however, it seems like language is going to be the only way we can all live and work together (potentially) peacefully if people want peace enough and want to know what is important to accomplish it and what isn't.

But perhaps the God who toppled the Tower of Babel is right. Perhaps we just can't have peace and unity. Perhaps we're not ready for it yet. Perhaps the God who ordered things in the Bible which seem terrible is right. Perhaps that's what we deserve. Perhaps the God who says there will be armageddon and an end to the world is right. Perhaps the God who threatens those who don't believe in him or his son is right. I don't know. Or if that God isn't right, then does that mean there isn't a God?
