Is there anything worse than a person who is "passionate" about something?

People who can really feel your passion as if it were their own, because, you know, they're sort of "empaths" who just kinda feel these things.

Yes, someone needs to devise an insufferability scale.

But not completely unjustified.

Yes, I did manage to read it before your edit. :)

That's because the word has been misused and overused by wankers. Same old story...

Apparently, when you apply for any job these days, you have to convince HR tossers that you are 'passionate' about the job and 'see yourself doing it in the next 5 years drivel drivel phony drivel blah blah...'
''Yes, I have always been passionate about cleaning toilets, especially when they have all that hard brown stuff on the porcelain that you need a chisel to get off-- although I'm proud to say that my my fingernails do the job nicely and don't damage the bowl surface...''

They are the same wankers who are "blown away" by triviality, and find the mundane "awesome".

They must be exhausted by the end of the day after being 'blown away' by all that 'awesomeness'.

Yes, a person who sings “Happy Birthday” to a miserable person on their Birthday 🥳 🎉

Yes, but I would make an exception for Midnight Mass, out of respect.

Yes, I would imagine it would be very rude to outshine God’s Birthday. 🎅🏻

As a generalization I think that's an odd question. People who are passionate about things can run the gamut from Hitler to great mothers, artists, neurosurgeons (ones I am thinking of are pleasant and not dicks)...well, the list could go on.

- having or showing strong beliefs or feelings.

To me that isn't a negative in and of itself. It depends. Passionate morons with pernicious beliefs, well, I don't think there is anything worse, except perhaps cold, scheming psychopaths with power.

So, that would be my answer if pressed...

cold, scheming psychopaths with power.

But I have that issue with the question. I don't think if one has strong emotions about something you need be a problem. And I think even strong beliefs can be peachy also. Like say someone who thinks all children should be protected from dysentery. Now, such a person could end up being a royal pain in the ass or even some kind of terrorist. But they need not. They could just be passionate and convincing and effective in moving toward that goal based on their passionate belief.

Indeed it could; from people who collect stamps to those who want to make the world a better place by talking about it with passion.
