Ancient Greek has no word for morality.

For all things philosophical.

Ancient Greek has no word for morality.

Morality is not a possibility coextensive with human life, unless it is superstitiously read into the world. By which I don't say that it is superstition to be moral, but that, rather, before it was discovered as a possibility of the human being, it was not actualized. And its actuality might again sink into non-being.

Ethos means, not in the common tongue ethics, but, rather, the custom of the country.
