Since I don't know you from a hole in the wall, can't read your mind or plumb your past thru hocus-pocus, and if you're comin' at me with crazy in your eyes, then absolutely I'll defend myself, and -- if I have my coach gun on hand -- I'll shoot you.
Now: tell me of your power to dodge shot.
I'm all ears, here, in this thread

I don't have any such dodging powers. I just shoot faster and more accurately than you.
THAT is the chance I was asking if you are willing to take... Return fire by a guy in a dog suit because you decided to be a cowboy. It sure sounds like comic relief.
De-escalation gets you home to your loved ones with far fewer bullet holes.Your self-preservation instinct is broken. Badass

You were a cop? Wow... that surprised me. I've never been very comfortable around law enforcement... male egos and guns... seems kinda dangerous to me. And yet, your posts are some of the ones I most enjoy reading... as you give it straight back to people... very relaxed... with logic and humor. I do too in my own style. They never seem to appreciate it.

Still am. I volunteer my time.
My bread and butter is in technology.

It is unfortunately another stereotype i need to navigate around. I am just under 6 foot. 200 pounds. People are intimidated by my physique far sooner than they encounter my ability to reason and empathise. Brains and brawn aren't supposed to go hand-in-hand.
But I enjoy shattering pre-conceptions...

Right. Excellent!TimeSeeker wrote: ↑Fri Sep 28, 2018 3:00 am Brains and brawn aren't supposed to go hand-in-hand.

I enjoy smashing stereotypes too -- as well as trying to blow open the doors of perception and potential! This forum provides lots of opportunities for that.

I suppose sitting around eating doughnuts and/or shooting black children might take its toll on the physique.TimeSeeker wrote: ↑Fri Sep 28, 2018 3:00 amStill am. I volunteer my time.

Stereotypes tend to be true--that's how they become 'stereotypes' in the first placeTimeSeeker wrote: ↑Fri Sep 28, 2018 3:50 amAnd if that's not the most idiotic stereotype coming from a Yank.vegetariantaxidermy wrote: ↑Fri Sep 28, 2018 3:40 am I suppose sitting around eating doughnuts and/or shooting black children might take its toll on the physique.

Well, we already concluded that you don't really understand how statistical distributions work. So lets not take your word for itvegetariantaxidermy wrote: ↑Fri Sep 28, 2018 3:54 am Stereotypes tend to be true--that's how they become 'stereotypes' in the first place![]()
Alas. You continue to display evidence for lack of adaptation despite corrective feedback. I don't know what to make of that. I am sure there is a pejorative I could find if I tried looking for one...

Well your lectures on statistics are so boring that I worry I might become blind or comatose if I look at them for too long.

I apologise profusely if learning new things doesn't excite you as much as it excites me.vegetariantaxidermy wrote: ↑Fri Sep 28, 2018 3:59 am Well your lectures on statistics are so boring that I worry I might become blind or comatose if I look at them for too long.
That pejorative is on the tip of my tongue. Or fingertips or something.

Of course. Entirely possible. But that is not what I am drawing your attention to. My claims could be true or they could be false.henry quirk wrote: ↑Fri Sep 28, 2018 4:28 am You could be a loon in a nuthouse with internet privileges.
I am drawing your attention to your own uncertainty. The non-zero probability that you may have misjudged me.
IF you have made an error in judgment THEN what happens to YOU?
The risk vs reward trade-off you are making. I am not seeing it...
And so - your behavior seems rather irrational. Certainly way more than somebody thinking they are a dog. That belief poses no threat of physical injury to self. Your belief does.
Do you have tendencies towards self-harm maybe?
