Bullcrap

Post by commonsense »

You’ve got to stand out from the hum and the drum if you’re going to get someone’s fucking attention. Profanity, when strategically interjected, is one way to make a distinctive impression. If swear words amount to an assault on civility, they can be used to elicit a passionate reaction from polite society.

Self-righteous umbrage can be aroused with just the right amount of bullshit. By calling someone dumb you suggest that they are a dullard, a bore or even a mentally challenged person. But by calling someone shit-for-brains you suggest that they are a dullard, a bore or even a mentally challenged person.

Manners are overrated. Whenever you need to emphasize a point or underscore a contrast, be vulgar. The more shockingly vulgar, the more piss you can stir up. Never mind that swearing is a shitty attempt to cover up a shitty vocabulary. Never mind that a limited vocabulary is indicative of inadequate education. And never mind that eloquence is elitist and elitist is anathema to society’s median.

Literature is rife with obscenities. Our gritty wrestling heroes are foul-mouthed assholes, and we love it. Anyone who doesn’t swear profusely is a coward and a dickhead. Nothing is accomplished with niceness that can’t be done better and faster with a fuck-shit-piss-bitch-dick-cock-pussy-suck-screw-crap to liven things up.

Really, don't you get more attention by using fowl language than by being nice?

Squeaky wheel and all that?
