On Rudeness
On Rudeness
Some people seem to think that rudeness can be good for something.
Let me try to think of something.
It could be a peculiar way of trying to establish a bond of intimacy.
Because the agent is afraid of being kind openly. And if he is rude and the target of his attentions does not respond positively he or she can deny his original plans.
If I remember correctly that´s what was going on in my nursery school sometimes.

Have you thought about asking before having an offensive answer? Or you feel like a victim enough to start being an asshole with people you dont know?duszek wrote:Some people seem to think that rudeness can be good for something.

Re: On Rudeness
See now, this kind of rudeness isn't about getting someone's attention or trying to make a connection.TSBU wrote:

It's usually an attempt at dominating a situation by putting the other person on the defensive. It may seem hard to understand in the context of a situation such as this, where the opening comment was not aimed at the responder; indeed, the responder had no good reason to enter into a dialogue at all, (Unless, of course, there's history between the two participants.) since they had nothing to contribute. It's a form of aggression.
For many people today, it's the only form of aggression available, and perhaps the only way that they feel they can be in control. Powerless people - such as, as mentioned in the OP, very small children - often resort to negative, reactionary tactics in order to appear stronger.
Plus, rudeness is the vogue among a portion of the population who have bought into the anti-PC hype.

It will discourage stupid people from doing stupid things.duszek wrote:Some people seem to think that rudeness can be good for something.

I probably can't make you see how stupid you are, but I enjoy the try. It would be good for you, and for me, if you stop saying stupid things, that's what I want you to "understand", I don't want you to "put you on the defensive", I want you to shut the fuck up.
Re: On Rudeness
I wonder who was the intended target of that pointless lashing-out.
Not that it matters: sometimes rude people just enjoy the image of themselves "telling somebody off"; much as they would practice grimaces in the mirror. The up-side is, they now have their very own president, in at least two countries, and probably more to come.
Shake in your boots, civilization!

Re: On Rudeness
I know you are not very bright, but I know I'm VERY intelligent, exceeding most people in logistics and principle analysis. I've been in the Administration and Quality Department where I found 100 waste hours per sales person with a staff of 150++, reduced several jobs with 90%++ I am really good at what I do, and you are a hapless retard.TSBU wrote:I probably can't make you see how stupid you are, but I enjoy the try. Re: On Rudeness
What an 'honourable' way to make a living--taking people's jobs off them because you deem them to be 'unproductive'. I think the yank term is 'human resources' (corporate wankers and toss-buckets). How the hell do you determine what are 'waste hours' anyway? Destroying staff morale is not productive.HexHammer wrote:I know you are not very bright, but I know I'm VERY intelligent, exceeding most people in logistics and principle analysis. Ahh! the socialist ideal, nothing to do, and all day to do it, and still get paid for it.vegetariantaxidermy wrote: What an 'honourable' way to make a living--taking people's jobs off them because you deem them to be 'unproductive'. Re: On Rudeness
Gosh, I wonder how companies ever managed to run before yank-style 'human resources' were invented. Actually it's just unproductive people juggling numbers to make themselves feel important. It doesn't increase production or profit in any way--in fact it's just the opposite--a pseudo-industry like 'therapists' and 'motivational speakers'. ''This approach enables the graphic depiction for the "shape" of a staffing need, in order to facilitate understanding of the global view for the role and hiring processes.'' What the fuck is that supposed to mean???thedoc wrote:Ahh! the socialist ideal, nothing to do, and all day to do it, and still get paid for it.vegetariantaxidermy wrote: What an 'honourable' way to make a living--taking people's jobs off them because you deem them to be 'unproductive'.
