Conspiracies exist. Oligopolies conspire to corner and share the market. Did George Bush not conspire to find a reason to go to war in Iraq? Denial that conspiracies are even remotely possible is just plain silly, and the term is now used to end a discussion when anyone is looking for reasons behind events. A conspiracy exists when two or more people get together to influence events, or make things happen, even if it's innocuous, like conspiring to throw a birthday party.
