So what kind of attachment is rage a sign of? Or is it that we are 'attached' to our selves as healthy, strong 'alive' beings. When some of that is lost, then we might feel anger? 'Rage against the dying of the light'.

You are attached to a favourite colour? You do know that if it isn't blue I will be sorely disappointed
Some people are attached to certain colours according to favourite team. I'm thinking the colour green, the football team Celtic, and Catholics.
Some people of the opposite persuasion will not have the colour green in their homes. How ridiculous, given that green is the colour of nature.

Symptoms of deep and strong attachment, then,...Stupidity? Black and white thinking...

I don't really have a favorite, but I will claim one at times.

Some time ago My wife and I were in a church choir, and the director decided that we would sing together better if we know more about each other. So she started asking us to answer questions about our favorites, food, music, TV, etc. She got around to colors and I was getting the shit's of this game and was ready to end it. Everyone was giving the typical answers, red, green, blue, blah, blah, blah, and they finally got to the basses where I was. I already had a reputation, but no-one was expecting my answer. I said my favorite color was 'Flesh', everyone broke up with laughter, and the director decided we should just get back to singing.

A sign, attached to a pole, lodged in one's head, not only symbolic, but also symptomatic, of a traffic accident.

Oh. I thought you wanted these words used in a sentence.

Fart.

When attachment to the concept of what should be contradicts what is,

When attachment to the concept of what should not be contradicts what is,

and reconciling either contradiction that exists only in the mind is not possible (impotence),

Rage is one possible effect.
