A kind of postmodern reboot

Post by spike »

I find some of the articles in PN as coming from an alternative universe, written by those who have been watching to much of "Game Of Thrones" or movies like "The Matrix". They aren't based on accumulated experiences or history. They are shallow and often verging on the adolescence. They are more influenced by "narratives" and personal desires rather than substance and reality. "Narrative" is usually code for a conspiracy being perpetrated. I find there is too much of that creeping into the magazine.

Articles that have been written about democracy, capitalism and war rarely account for the history and culture behind them. Those subjects are generally discussed as though they were recently discovered.

Nevertheless, I will keep on reading PN in hope of finding a nugget of wisdom now and then.
