Endorsing PM to the already converted

Post by FrankGSterleJr »

Fairly recently Albertan Wayne Gretzky granted his very own official endorsement of a re-elected Stephen Harper Conservative government, which is of no real surprise—Gretzky having been one used to knowing that huge-goon enforcers were covering his skinny hide, as Harper doubtlessly knows he has the devil to cover his. But more importantly, Gretzky’s endorsement of Harper is unlikely to garner much more votes for his fellow-Albertan PM than would’ve been received regardless; they’re votes from voters that are of significant specific relevance and value to Gretzky’s former field of expertise: A sport of gratuitous hockey fights with sporadic puck handling, accompanied by head-slamming into rink boards seasoned just right with concussion-sufferer-turned-brain-donor. All the while the aforementioned is being well-funded and cheered on, of course, by hockey’s countless faithful ticket holders, sprinkled by the odd true hockey-sport fan who’s essentially the regular ticket-holder minus the brain-damaging brawn fanaticism, etcetera … But back to speaking ‘majority’—by the way, a true one (at the very least fifty percent plus one of the entire electorate) which a politician-plus-party here needs not to rule all Canadians—there’s the typically huge one at the arena when it comes to the hockey-fight and head-slam fans, mostly made up of what I refer to as the worst-of-both-worlds ardent libertarians. As for Wayne Gretzky as one-time hockey king: he having made some many multiples of many millions of dollars, with likely huge investments here and there since retirement, why would he not still want that beloved upper-income-tax bracket cut that’s so popular with Harper-and-Party, eh?

Hey, what does a frog like you have against free-market capitalism, and I don't care if you're French-Canadian or not.
