US, UK, UN and EU on RACISM

Post by Brit Dems »

It looks like somebody gave up. Perhaps Hobbes' Choice bit off more than he/she could chew, so to speak.
viewtopic.php?f=13&t=15303&start=120#p199465

US, UK, UN and EU have very different views on Racism although they appear the same.
I think that it is a time bomb that will explode in the near future. :!:
1. Categories and Definitions

The minimum categories for data on race and ethnicity for Federal statistics, program administrative reporting, and civil rights compliance reporting are defined as follows:

-- American Indian or Alaska Native. A person having origins in any of the original peoples of North and South America (including Central America), and who maintains tribal affiliation or community attachment.

-- Asian. A person having origins in any of the original peoples of the Far East, Southeast Asia, or the Indian subcontinent including, for example, Cambodia, China, India, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Pakistan, the Philippine Islands, Thailand, and Vietnam.

-- Black or African American. A person having origins in any of the black racial groups of Africa. Terms such as "Haitian" or "Negro" can be used in addition to "Black or African American."

-- Hispanic or Latino. A person of Cuban, Mexican, Puerto Rican, Cuban, South or Central American, or other Spanish culture or origin, regardless of race. The term, "Spanish origin," can be used in addition to "Hispanic or Latino."

-- Native Hawaiian or Other Pacific Islander. A person having origins in any of the original peoples of Hawaii, Guam, Samoa, or other Pacific Islands.

-- White. A person having origins in any of the original peoples of Europe, the Middle East, or North Africa. *

Respondents shall be offered the option of selecting one or more racial designations. Recommended forms for the instruction accompanying the multiple response question are "Mark one or more" and "Select one or more."

"White. A person having origins in any of the original peoples of Europe, the Middle East, or North Africa."
* IC6 Arabs / Middle Eastern people get to be White in America. Not so in Europe. No Middle Easterns or North Africans allowed to be IC1 White in Europe.

Human Rights as relevant universal standard[edit]
And the VDPA seeks to reaffirm human rights as universal and relevant standard. The Preamble states: "Emphasizing that the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which constitutes a common standard of achievement for all peoples and all nations, is the source of inspiration and has been the basis for the United Nations in making advances in standard setting as contained in the existing international human rights instruments, in particular the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights and the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vienna_Dec ... _of_Action

What do you know about this situation? :?:

Oh dear!
Encourage groups, movements, and other means that eliminate barriers between races, and discourage racial division[33] http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internatio ... ination.22

Ethnicity labels are divisive, says Phillips. http://www.thetimes.co.uk/tto/news/poli ... 446683.ece Divide the IC1 White North Europeans from the IC2 Dark South Europeans.
