More straight talk from the AEP
The government should not give married people special benefits or privileges. In fact, the term "marriage" should not even be used by the government. If two people want to live together and have the government view them as a unit for various purposes, that's fine, and they can notify the government of this arrangement. There should be no such thing as a "marriage license," and if two people want to end this relationship, they can just notify the government again. There should be no such thing as a "divorce" or one person getting any assets of the other person.
