..all music (even epic music) is hollow, unsatisfying, and meaningless,
like life. Sure, "good" music puts visions of sugarplums in your head, epic music pumps your adrenaline and gives you visions of grandeur, some would say quality art.
~ GreatandWiseTrixie ~

I think the quote above pretty-much says it all...

...such is life...

I think that is what they are saying. And we BOTH agree.

I think the truth is - ' ... all music (even epic music) is hollow, unsatisfying, and meaningless to me, like life.'.

Which I'm sure has some value to you.

Music is like an 8 ball, it has only the meaning you put into it. Therefore, it has no meaning at all.

Only if one has no meaning to put into it. I also think music has a meaning put into it by the artist.

Then I wouldn't say the music itself is meaningful, but the words inside the music as a communication device. Music is just a series of sound waves, causing different resonations in the body, causing you to release different hormones and chemicals.

Which according to you are the Yin and Yang of life?

Which is my primary point, that life is meaningless, just different hormones and chemicals and data communications.

Well I definitely think the term 'life' is pretty much meaningless as I thin it a reification.

I also think that our 'lives' are meaningless if one means that there is an external purpose, plan or 'God' guiding it.

But I think that since we are 'meaning-creators' then the meaning of ones life is the meaning one gives to it. So not meaningless at all if one chooses.

Well the reason I think Jesus is a good guy, is because golden rule. We have to live long enough to figure out how to end this thing known as existence itself. That's the only meaning of life there is, really...

Well I like the Christian message as well but philosophically it has a small flaw and that's what if I like things that others don't? Doing unto them might be an issue in this case.

Don't see why? As its probable that it'll end itself of its own accord.

Nah! There's loads more meanings to life if one wishes.
