It is obvious that the guy behind the camera was trying to provoke the officer to get footage upon which a complaint of thuggery can be based.

More humane and ethical would be initially respecting the individual police officer and the authority of his office.

It's not hubris but it is wise, just do what they say, and in a while you will be away from them. Question their authoritah and it may not go so smoothly. Wise course of action accede to all their demands answer all their questions and walk away, there's no need to make a moral argument with stupid people.

I see NO bad behavior by any member of public.

All seem mystified by manic aggression of police on scene. The guy in my link was on own property and well within rights.
Rights that seem to be mutable depending on mood of on scene police presence.

i know that cops have a hard job and there is no reason to be a douche to cops

but the normative job requirement is that even if you have been doing an extra long shift in hot weather and your cop cars airconditioner has broken, you still cannot pound members of the public simply because they are douches

yes anyone who starts arguing with a cop at 4 am - which means the cop is doing a night shift - is an idiot

but cops have to remain professional even with idiots

True but they are only human, and you shouldn't expect our watchmen to be any different than any other subset of the population, some people are dicks some aren't, same goes for law and protection providers. You are absolutely right they should not behave like that, and they should be impartial and perfect in their judgement even if the perp is acting like a remtard, but that aint going to happen. You know yourself there are times when you act like a total dick because you are tired, have been abused all day, and are still on the go despite that.

I had Rack of fire arms.. when i caught daughter trying to rack bolt of german kar.98 at age 9 i sold the lot.

The entire matter was dropped by court order after a few minutes of her and judge in closed door. And i did not have to wear best jacket jeans or boots.

Good court result, but you know that having initiated this tidbit of social drama you are obligated to follow it up. What did she tell the judge?

Age 9 begins curiosity. Having chosen to keep a loaded firearm in my home, when my oldest girl was around that age I brought them all to work one afternoon. We had lunch in some handy forest, and I did some target practice with my old 1911. Invited them to fire off a few rounds afterward, no takers. Never worried about the loaded firearm afterward. For her 16th birthday my youngest requested training, and was knocking off tin cans with that gun at 10 yards when we called it a day. She's since traveled around the country alone, and in perfect safety not for lack of villains, but because she carries a "don't mess with" attitude.

Australians seem to have a different attitude. It seems to me that disarming oneself, much less an entire country, is like killing your sheep dog because the neighbors have pit bulls.
