energy is it a form of consciousness
energy is it a form of consciousness
is energy a form of consciousness .or is it consciousness a form of energy.got to be one or the other.reckon myself that energy is a form of consciousness.
Re: energy is it a form of consciousness
What is energy? Anything that has a true positive value?
Re: energy is it a form of consciousness
i think energy is indistinguishable of its self.it just changes state.
Re: energy is it a form of consciousness
You distinguish it too much though with that definition. If it can't be distinguished how can it be recognised through observing that it changes state? I think the most we can say is that it is the changing of states - whether it actually changes itself is an unknowable because energy is irreducible and thus not available to scrutiny.
Re: energy is it a form of consciousness
Sometimes it takes a lot of energy to screwtinize another consciousness, so that consciousness is knowable via. energy.Bernard wrote: whether it actually changes itself is an unknowable because energy is irreducible and thus not available to scrutiny.
Re: energy is it a form of consciousness
so that would be consciousness using energy to navigate its self in the event.thedoc wrote:Sometimes it takes a lot of energy to screwtinize another consciousness, so that consciousness is knowable via. energy.Bernard wrote: whether it actually changes itself is an unknowable because energy is irreducible and thus not available to scrutiny.

Re: energy is it a form of consciousness
It appears that no one posting to this thread has any knowledge of basic physics, and could not tell us what the Three (or Four, for rigorous mathematicians) Laws of Thermodynamics are.
There is no chance that any of them could apply the concepts that they do not understand to any useful concept of mind. This thread is meaningless. Might as well have 8th grade science class graduates expressing their opinions about the philosophical implications of quantum mechanics.
Of course, expect someone to post a copy of a Wikipedia article on thermodynamics, by way of a substitute for conceptual understanding.
Incidentally, if anyone is interested I will be happy to provide an explanation of the rules of energy according to conventional physics. This could be followed with an explanation of the relationship between energy, soul, and consciousness, but only by way of follow-up to informed curiosity.

Re: energy is it a form of consciousness
Get thee to a science forum, we seek philosophy here. And better to learn the difference between philosophy and science before commenting on either types of forum.
The term energy is older than 19c science. It's older than Aristotle who coined the term.
Terms often belong to a variety if syntax and being a philosophy forum you shouldn't expect scientific definitions to rule.
Energy basically means activity.
The energy of the mind is the essence of life.
- Aristotle
What can modern science do with such a statement? It's not reasonable or empirically useful. Science can handle a fact very well but not often a truth, which is a subjective advent.

Re: energy is it a form of consciousness
basic physics cant explain consciousness.the idea here is that physics is in side consciousness and came into existance from consciousness.so that consciousness pre existed all else physical and that means physics.Greylorn Ell wrote:It appears that no one posting to this thread has any knowledge of basic physics, and could not tell us what the Three (or Four, for rigorous mathematicians) Laws of Thermodynamics are.

Re: energy is it a form of consciousness
We still remember the law of the preservation (or conservation ?) of energy.
If a body moves in empty space without anything hindering it, it moves on and on and on.
It keeps its load of energy.
It keeps its impulse.
How can we apply this law to a thought moving in our mind ?

Re: energy is it a form of consciousness
a thought originates from awareness.in my oppinion consciouse awareness dosnt move because its sizeless or unlimited.so the limited thought resides in unlimited unmoving consciousness.
Re: energy is it a form of consciousness
But if you think a thought then your brain looks active to scientists if they monitor it. The brain uses energy. ATPs for example. And that is why when you think hard you get hungry and need to eat something, preferably something like sugar.
Re: energy is it a form of consciousness
yes the brain is an energy machine working in time and space with thoughts that are co ordenated with the event but the whole of this activity has in my opinion a nonlocal connection or higher self connection to a nonmoving absolute.
Re: energy is it a form of consciousness
Consciousness is not just energy but synergy. Within the cosmos, energy is a fundamental element because every single thing or happening would involve with it, without exception. Energy denotes the ability to change or become and all things or happenings that exist are dependent on one another via the various orientation or transformation of energy. For instance, we know that humans and things cause pleasure and pain, and that they can help and harm. Therefore, phenomena certainly do exist but the question is how? They do not exist in their own quality but only have an existence dependent upon many factors, including a consciousness that conceptualises them.
But how does consciousness derive? Consciousness is actually the end result of several natural activities of energy taken place in the dependent nature. Let’s refer to the following linkage of dependent origination: -
Balance leads to stability, stability leads to aggregation, aggregation leads to agitation, agitation leads to information, information leads to knowledge, knowledge leads to representation, representation leads to memory, memory leads to compulsion, compulsion leads to ignorance, ignorance leads to blindness, blindness leads to disorientation, disorientation leads to confusion, confusion leads to irrationality, irrationality leads to impulse, impulse leads to sparkling, sparkling leads to inkling, inkling leads to volition, volition leads to awareness, awareness leads to consciousness, consciousness leads to mind and body, etc.
From the above illustration, one could notice that awareness is a ground condition that ‘supports’ consciousness. The nature of awareness is effulgence and it is in a not-knowing state before the appearance of object. Consciousness, on the other hand, is appearance of objects in the mind. When awareness touches on objects, consciousness would arise simultaneously. Therefore, consciousness is synergy that arises through the several activities of energy taken place beforehand. Synergy means energy that expands through cooperation and it becomes a key to the geometric expansion of consciousness and thus the arising of its two terms i.e. prevailing consciousness and subtle consciousness. Consciousness is naturally looking outward to objects and it is flitting all the time.
On the other hand, mind is a pattern of consciousness which is born from awareness. In fact, mind is known as consciousness in individuality. Therefore, the origin of individuality is the same as the origin of the mind. Mind is something more objective and involves clear discrimination – differentiates and understands the characteristics of objects. One utilises mind to understand things because mind understands the manipulation of consciousness.

Re: energy is it a form of consciousness
yes that seems to cover every thing.dont yhink we can push it any further.
