This is the kind of thing that makes some people oppose the ownership of guns. But the deat could have been caused just as well with a knife, hammer, other weapon or tool. It was not the gun that caused the death, it was the stupid teen who used it.

But there would not have been any death if there had not been an idiot belligerent father who thought the way to solve a disagreement was to use force and, "teach him a lesson."

Hope everyone learned their lesson.
Humans not able to ignore their emotions live in tension. Humans who live in tension are never free, they are defensive, reactive slaves of their own mind, the mind they believe to have, but don't.

It's ok to live in tension, as long as that tension does not intend to cause harm to another.

The Cactus does not intend to harm ...

The cactus is a symbol of endurance. It symbolizes the ability to see beyond what is visible with our naked eyes, the cactus represent the need to trust that you are protected from danger and threats, and that the biggest threat comes from the armour you shroud yourself in everyday.

But yeah, death is scary...but the enlightened know they can not die because they know they have never been born.

Only the mind is born...NOT YOU

Okay.
Also, because there are NOT closed doors on my home, let alone LOCKED DOORS, human beings, to me, are NOT SEEN as "strangers", and are WELCOMED.
Perpetually open doors: well, okay.

There is no self to defend, do you see where I am going with this...if there is a self to defend, then that self will always be on the defensive with itself, namely from others whom may threaten the life of their believed self. That is bondage, not freedom.

In reality, no thing is free because no thing is bound...the human conceptual story is the dream of separation where there is none. And humans fall for this story hook, line and sinker, and is why they continue to live in tension for their entire life until death. They've invented the word ''freedom'' to assuage the tension that is innately natural to all sentient living organisms.
The self does not exist for you but is just a figment of your imagination. The self for me is our personality made up of the lower parts of our collective dual soul. It has become corrupted by imagination and negative emotions. The personality can no longer reflect what is already known by our higher parts.

β€œThe true value of a human being can be found in the degree to which he has attained liberation from the self.” ~ Einstein

It isn't a matter of pretending the self doesn't exist but rather how to heal it from the effects of imagination and negative emotions so it can become one with our higher parts.. If people were normal then maybe there would be no more wars. Humanity is no longer as consciously intended so abnormality must lead to personal battles and wars. Guns will be necessary to defend against the duality of human nature.
