Sharia is not applied to non-muslims in Indonesia. Law is not a democratic process.Greatest I am wrote:

So, to you, democracy includes punishing rape victim for being raped and not having any semblance of free speech.Obvious Leo wrote:It is if the majority of the people have voted in favour of it.Greatest I am wrote:Sharia is not a democratic system.

Like I said, you obviously don't read your links but just the titles.Greatest I am wrote:http://www.smh.com.au/world/hardline-in ... kc5er.htmlArising_uk wrote:Sharia is not applied to non-muslims in Indonesia. Law is not a democratic process.Greatest I am wrote:

Keep your head in the sand then and give respect to a religion that does not deserve any.Arising_uk wrote:[

"The vast majority of Indonesians practice a moderate form of Islam, but Aceh is the only province that adheres to Islamic Sharia law, putting it at odds with the rest of the country."
But even in this case it is not Sharia law that is the issue as it is not applicable to the Christians or the other religions that the Indonesian government recognises, it is that the hardliners are at issue with Churches that they say do not have the legal permits that they should have. Now of course this might just be a front for their prejudices and a way to attack them but bugger all to do with Sharia law.
I hope you're not including me in this retort because I don't accord even the remotest modicum of respect to any religious belief. As far as I'm concerned all belief in the supernatural is equally contemptible and utterly unworthy of a thinking being and your enthusiasm to favour one flavour of fruitloopery over another is at once illogical, dangerous and infantile. Billions of human lives have been needlessly wasted over the years by people who think just like YOU.Greatest I am wrote: Keep your head in the sand then and give respect to a religion that does not deserve any.
You got the wrong person, I think none of you godbotherers deserve any respect.Greatest I am wrote:
