I get that. But my point is, neither did the founder of the company. He wanted 'googol' (1.0e100), as in 'googolplex' (1.0e(googol)), not his misspelling of it. Hence the company name was a goof.bobevenson wrote:My point is that Arising doesn't know how to spell the company's name, and can't even come close.Dalek Prime wrote:Actually Bob, Google, itself, is an accidental misspelling by the company founders, who wanted to name the company Googol.

So what! The name "Google" has been the company's name for, Christ, how many years now, and any dipshit spelling it "goggle" should be ashamed of himself!

Not at all bob. It's more a reflection of what used to be it's main use. Although I do have an issue with monopolies and market constraint and a definite philosophical one with the way truth is becoming defined algorithmically according to who pays. Other than that I think goggling a fine thing.
p.s.
You are an amazing guy bob, always returning to your monomania and then anything to distract from it eh!

a) Google doesn't have a monopoly on anything, and b) it's a tough decision, but I won't stoop to using one of your laughing smilies in response to your suggestion that truth can be bought!Arising_uk wrote:I do have an issue with monopolies and market constraint and a definite philosophical one with the way truth is becoming defined algorithmically according to who pays.
