Okay there's a lot to go over here... let's start with the basics: "Perversion" and "Diversion".
The root word is Vert, meaning direction (Ver-ticle, Ver-tice, Ver-tex).
Per-version = Corruption
Di-version = Redirection from the original destination
So masturbation is a corruption of the natural sexual impulse (perversion), which is to reproduce.
Masturbation diverts (diversion) the goal of sex, to beget a child, from Potency to Impotency.
Rather than the natural impulse to reproduce (Potency), the sex-drive is diverted to *NOT* reproduce (Impotency).

Nature has no compassion or mercy for the Losers of sex, the impotent and perverse. If you do not reproduce, then your genes die off. You become extinct. This can extend to entire families, tribes, societies, species (Genocide). There is no guarantee in life, ever.
But to conflate sex as "no big deal" and "equally valid", is the biggest of lies possible and imaginable. This is the critical difference between (sexual) Liberalism and Conservatism. Liberalism is premised on the idea of "Liberating" the Sex Drive from traditional morality (Conservatism). Thus, Liberals promote "Free Sex" (from the 1960s to now), as detached or disconnected entirely from Nature. Liberals thus argue masturbation, exhibition, homosexuality, transexuality, etc. are "no big deal" and "have sex however you want as long as it's not hurting/imposing upon others". But this ignores the fundamental difference between the Liberal and the Conservative.
Liberals ignore the Nature of sex (to reproduce).
Conservatives revere the Nature of sex (to procreate).
Conservatives see the natural consequence of Sex is to 'build a family'. Thus, the moral paradigm shifts between liberal to conservative. Your sex is not for pleasure, per se, but for 'building' relationships, family, kin, a new tribe, a new society,
a new genealogy. In fact, this is what most of the "Holy Books" are specifically about, new genealogies. Hence, most religions are based on (conservative) Sexuality, and rail against and outlaw liberal Sexuality.
