He got himself one convert, though, and that's mebbe the biggest payoff for him, in terms of high-larity.

I guess I've met too many people who are totally serious about....just about anything. This would seem tame by comparison. i think you need to really head to the fringes to get a good goof on. I mean, look at some of our regular members. And interestingly none of the other best philosohers in the world joined this thread. Must be like a magnetic thing.

Well, I didn't say Roy was perpetratin' a good goof. Though, DAM fallin' for it is high-larious.

I would couple this with: if you want to radically change the way someone sees the world, don't expect a 15 minute presentation to do it. People change, generally, via experience. Either over long periods where new smaller experiences accumulate or via very powerful experiences of something new. The system slowly develops or the system is shocked. Now of course a 15 minute presentation is an experience, but it's a fairly shallow one. And one that is supposed to be teaching you to be able not to think, seem to me has a bad approach right from the get go by engaging the mind and with a lot of words.

A story would have been a better start. At least that points to life and experiences and what led, potentially, to change.
