Someone, everyone, please take this seriously.
Re: Someone, everyone, please take this seriously.
Saying stuff that is meaningless is pointless, and saying stuff that does mean something but is said in such a way that no one can understand what it means is equally pointless.
Addressed to nobody in particular, as there are too many of you to name.

Well, I didn't say Roy was perpetratin' a good goof. Though, DAM fallin' for it is high-larious.Iwannaplato wrote: ↑Sun Aug 28, 2022 8:38 pmI guess I've met too many people who are totally serious about....just about anything. This would seem tame by comparison. i think you need to really head to the fringes to get a good goof on. I mean, look at some of our regular members. And interestingly none of the other best philosohers in the world joined this thread. Must be like a magnetic thing.henry quirk wrote: ↑Sun Aug 28, 2022 8:04 pmNah, it's a goof, the punchline bein' the contents of this thread.Iwannaplato wrote: ↑Sun Aug 28, 2022 10:27 am
I doubt that. IOW I doubt that he is thinking - hej I think I'll prank some people...or any similar type thought. I think he believes what he says, including what he says about himself. But this is speculative.
He got himself one convert, though, and that's mebbe the biggest payoff for him, in terms of high-larity.

Re: Someone, everyone, please take this seriously.
I would couple this with: if you want to radically change the way someone sees the world, don't expect a 15 minute presentation to do it. People change, generally, via experience. Either over long periods where new smaller experiences accumulate or via very powerful experiences of something new. The system slowly develops or the system is shocked. Now of course a 15 minute presentation is an experience, but it's a fairly shallow one. And one that is supposed to be teaching you to be able not to think, seem to me has a bad approach right from the get go by engaging the mind and with a lot of words.
A story would have been a better start. At least that points to life and experiences and what led, potentially, to change.

How is it dualist?
Re: Someone, everyone, please take this seriously.
Always speak the most simplistic idea that no one knows what you are talking about.

What, like the goof you’ve fallen for, the one you converted into, that thinks a gun will save its joke of a life… dream on, coward. Imposter.henry quirk wrote: ↑Mon Aug 29, 2022 11:19 am

I’ve no idea. But if you are curious, then try the curiosity shop that’s half a mile down the road, second turning on the left, and then go straight ahead and turn right.

Good luck with that.
