I got banned a couple times, but after the mod's temper cooled down, without a word they lifted the ban. Never had any problem with VPN or without it, for example, I was on VPN most of the day working on some vids, Kevin Kline, just to learn how he developed over the years. Now I have the VPN off.

We need to stop complaining about the minor inconveniences that arise from Rick and Bora's efforts to keep the site safe from malicious bots and be grateful to Rick for providing us with this ad-free mental asylum where we can share our bone-headed ideas.

Well that is the way genius thinks. You want to keep everyone safe on the forum, just ban them from it.
That trend of protection by eliminating the protected started with Microsoft.

actually it goes back to the Union. You got job security if you don't do your work, because if you don't do your work, you always have a job to do.

And you can solve world hunger, just by teaching people not to eat the food they got. They will then always have an adequate supply.

No problem is hard, if you let the simple solve it.

I see. Doing noting is the cure to all problems, and we should bow to the sun for taking so much effort to shine, and we have you to speak for the universe and guide us out of where ever it is your head is at. Yea, I agree, you don't take enough meds. Not trying to figure out things is the way to go because god probably does not know we exist.
I feel sooo neglected. Thank you for your brilliant slobbering. if you ever get over your personal pity party, maybe you can contribute something.

It is a good idea to check the task manager once in a while because sometimes things get put on your computer which should not be there. Which means you will have to manually uninstall something you have no need for, from someone serving themselves.
Sometimes, our machine is just too old to keep up. Every couple a years I buy a second hand Dell, on the cheap, just to run on the internet. Computers often cannot really do everything multiple interest parties load them down with. You have clean out the varmints on them once in a while.
We are all, by now, familiar with the fact that just one piece of bad code can shut the whole system down for days or longer. Our own computers are the same. Computers do not bow down and worship the sun.
Listen, you crotchety old fart, Rick hinted a while back that if maintaining this forum becomes too costly, or too much of a hassle for him, he will simply eliminate it. Which means that you'll lose your free source of international advertising* for your theory.

*(To the maybe 3 or 4 hapless and unfortunate visitors who stumble into this nuthouse of a forum per week.)

So, either stop your belly-aching about the way things are done around here,...

(which includes your silly assumption that Rick and Bora haven't explored various ways of resolving the technical problems)

...or stop using this site.

There are always workarounds, and I've found one for this, though it's pretty complicated. The main problem, for me at least, is that when I get the perma ban notice I then have to sign in again, which clears all the New Posts, preventing me from accessing any new thread that isn't one of my own, which I can search for under Your Posts. I suppose I could search in each individual subforum, but that's just too much, to be honest.

I've found, however, that if I access the forum on my mobile, which I sometimes do to check replies, though I'm not signed in, I can search under Active Topics. If there's a thread I want to reply to I can then find it with my laptop. I do, however, sometimes get the perma ban notice with my mobile, even though I'm not signed into the forum and never have been, in which case I have to wait and try again later.

As I said, it's pretty complicated.

And while you’re in the room - take a moment to notice you’re not in the room, notice there’s no inside or outside of you, there’s just pure absolute still motionless presence, everywhere you are.

Yes, it does, and I'm not quite sure why.

Atto has emailed me, by the way, to say hi to everyone, and to suggest that using a TOR browser might be a solution.

Indeed. If I remember rightly, I put his avatar through Grok for a description.

I asked the google AI and it said this: Grok would describe Brian as a creature that is both familiar and strange, with a voice that is deep and articulate, a personality that is intelligent but also vain, and a body that is a medium-sized dog, though one that walks upright and wears clothes. He would likely emphasize his intelligence and his role as a writer and intellectual, but also his more "dog-like" tendencies to chase things and his sometimes overly confident and vain demeanor, all while stressing his unique ability to speak and interact like a human.
