Thank you all.
I meant the kind of rock and roll or of rock music as it appeared in Midsommer.
Why should someone like Inspector Barnaby feel enthusiastic about music that tries to get attention for the suppressed underdogs ? Because he is a devoted samaritan and fights to freedom to the oppressed ?

No, you've loved ASS for 40 years. Fucking a mule is not the same as having an appreciation of 18thC Spinning technology.
I know you find this all confusing.

Are you kidding? I'm passionate about 19th C spinning technology. And, just for the record, I did not have sexual relations with Miss Mule. I have never had erotic feelings about anything donkey shaped.
I no you find this all confusing.
I no find it confusing at all.

Well I can hear it is still rock and roll and can admire the musicianship but not for me, maybe just an age thing as it sounded like self-indulgent old-mans music at the time and you couldn't dance to it in the main, whilst ska, reggae and funk were around then and then a couple of years later the old boys were all blown away(at least by the yoof) by the return of at least the energy and do-it-yourself ethos of rock an' roll -

Rock started out light, then got heavy.
A British adaptation?

The people who predicted the demise of Western civilisation due to rock and roll were right.
