Hi Gary!
The world is one of duality; thus, an individual requires a community, a cluster of patterns that gives one significance. Your behaviours within this context of patterns set you up as an individual, making or disrupting the harmony of the larger pattern. In this way, in this context, you cannot not be an individual, you have responsibilities to the larger pattern called society. There is one thing many religions get right, but abuse, and that is we are part of something larger than ourselves, the great mystery that they claim to know, in childish fantasy mythologies meant to comfort ignorance.
All groups converge upon an individual leader.
So, did I not previously state that to be an individual, you have to be part of a community? The two terms are mutually dependent.
All you are alluding to is that there is no whole without a part, and vice versa.
And yet on deeper introspection, relative ideas about the absolute are absurd. There is only the Indivisible Absolute.
This individuated visible Absolute.

They are and yet the person and group are both individual entities:
1. A person is an individual entity.
2. A group is an individual entity.
3. A group is but a recursion of person.
4. The person is but the recursion of other persons.
5. There is only the individual state appearing through variations where each variation gives identity to the other through contrast.
6. This contrast leads to a relationship between variations, there is only one individual state by degree of said relationship.
It comes down to a proto-metaphysics of measurement.
Fundamentally there is only an individual state across persons and groups.
That individual state is the singular state of the occurence of all of it.
In nature, the pattern/species is the individual, and it is the pattern that is passed from one generation to the next in the continuation of the species. Maintain the time-tested pattern or parish as an individual species in the harshness of natural selection. The singular organism is canon fuder that is a successful or failed pattern or food for other species, maintaining their patterns. The clusters of groups of societies are an amalgamation of collective interests in welfare, simulating a collective, species-like form, which tends to view nature as something to conquer. There are many life forms, but there is but one life's essence, and it is common to all organisms in our carbon-based biology. Society is functioning as a multicellular organism, a community, and the community is an individual to natural selection because it is within the larger community of the world at large, and context defines in all ways. Think about it, you were not even born with an identity, as long as you are a part of a larger whole/context/community, you are an individual. In isolation, you are a multicellular community; the cells of your body are individuals. What is it that dies when you die if not an anonymous biological pattern that, through its trials and tribulations of its environmental context, has gained a sense of identity? That is what dies. Ask yourself if a constitution is an individual or just a constitution, unless within a larger context.

Part to part, part to the whole, and the whole to each of its parts. One cannot escape process; all is process, and an organism needs to be an individual to someone.

All distinctions, person/group/nature, are but individual sets.

Nature is a condition, an ever-changing, imperfect condition that all life forms must adapt to over time, and in turn, nature is adapting to the larger realm of the cosmos. All of which is moving ever moving through processes to the realization of a whole but never quite getting there. The innate imperfection of the process is the engine of creation, moving ever-moving with no goal, no direction. There is only one set, the whole, which is never to be.

All things are relative conditions. All things as relative conditions necessitates all things as one by degree of conditionality. "1", be it an individual or group, is but a set of conditions.
Perfection and imperfection are not universally provable as these are assertions of perspective. You may claim nature is imperfect, yet existence is justification of what a thing is. Justification can be argued as a degree of perfection.

It is unusual to come across a person who believes that perfection is something realizable. Nothing is perfect; if it were, it could not change and there is only one constant in the world, CHANGE. Everything is in motion, everything is in change. An organism's adaptation to the ever changing world would be quite impossiable if all things were not imperfect.

The only thing that does not change is change itself. Consciousness observes change and its effects upon the endurance of all things. Biology is the measure and the meaning of all things, the only source of meaning in the world.

Perfection is the fire of change, manifested by time, for it the prime means that reveals what a thing truly is in essence.

Yes, a process or system of imperfection could be seen as the perfect imperfection by the processes or systems that must adapt to it. There is no such thing as something perfect; all is imperfection in motion and change. All things are causes to other things, and the reactions of those other things are again causes to the outside world, a cosmic dance of evolving imperfections. This process is endless and directionless.

Something that reaches its innate potential, by degree of dissolution where said potential is reached by means of cessation of actuality, is perfect.
