In Orwell's day at least the propaganda that the BBC was putting out, during the war, for example, was pro-British. Now it's anti-British.Walker wrote: ↑Fri Nov 14, 2025 1:21 pmInteresting that they call it a mistake, or an error.
It was a deliberate political lie intended to affect the 2024 election in the USA.
And, it was a repetition of the lie that had been told for so long, so often, without evidence, because there was no evidence of incitement by Trump although much evidence of incitement by those in the crowd, so early on the propaganda media created some evidence for those so eager to believe, and repeated it so often that it became accepted as a rock solid fact.
With their revision of The Truth, the BBC was merely showing why The Lie that so many cling to is now accepted as fact, even though they had to manufacture the evidence.
Was the BBC the model for Orwell's Ministry of Truth,
or,
Was the Ministry of Truth the model for the BBC?
It seems to be a matter of ... chronology.

If the Coast that you're referring to is the same one that I'm thinking of, then its presenter, Neil Oliver, was later banned by the BBC for expressing "wrong" opinions. He's now a presenter on GB News.Phil8659 wrote: ↑Fri Nov 14, 2025 1:51 pm I am watching BBC's Coast now.
I replaced all the drives in my ProBox 8 ver 3 with 4tb drives. And I then copied the Educational drive to my Library work station second 12tb drive and play the files on a Windows 11 VB set up for playing video's. You learn a lot of British history on the program.
I play programs on the 3rd monitor while working on the other two. I think I am going with The Book of O, for this demolition piece on trig.

Yes, I had noticed that as a presenter, he was rather too honest. Refreshing.Maia wrote: ↑Fri Nov 14, 2025 5:27 pmIf the Coast that you're referring to is the same one that I'm thinking of, then its presenter, Neil Oliver, was later banned by the BBC for expressing "wrong" opinions. Many histories in America, place the foundation of slave trading on the Dutch, In this presentation, it is proven to have British origins.

Coast was established to look like an examination, learning about the coast of the British Isles, while the commentary allow ample space for the critique of British Aristocracy. And the producers actually got away with it for a relatively long time. A viewer, in other words gets their cake and gets to eat it too. Not so much the BBC or producers.
One line reveals all. The Aristocracy was concerned with profit, and while the common man's problems were not profitable.

The BBC are still very anti the aristocracy, and any sort of British tradition at all.Phil8659 wrote: ↑Fri Nov 14, 2025 6:01 pm Coast was established to look like an examination, learning about the coast of the British Isles, while the commentary allow ample space for the critique of British Aristocracy. I believe it also had quite a lot of archaeology in it, didn't it? That would have been my chosen subject, had I decided to go to uni.

yes it does. I have a few of these educational series on the drive, the BBC is only one source.Maia wrote: ↑Fri Nov 14, 2025 6:07 pmThe BBC are still very anti the aristocracy, and any sort of British tradition at all.Phil8659 wrote: ↑Fri Nov 14, 2025 6:01 pm Coast was established to look like an examination, learning about the coast of the British Isles, while the commentary allow ample space for the critique of British Aristocracy. It makes great background noise when working on a project. Subliminal self motivated brain washing.

Whew... what a relief. When i saw this thread, i thought Maia was reporting that she had been accosted by a black fellow with a large reproductive organ. I see her sneaking down the sidewalk on her way to work in the morning to avoid the sex trafficking Kazakhstanians still looking for Pamela Anderson... and now she's gotta be on the lookout... well, you know what i mean... for British black men trying to emulate the american sensation Puff Daddy and get em a white baddie like Maia.
Maia, please don't use intentionally provocative wordplays in your thread titles. Don't think for a second we were thinking you were attacked by a black rooster when you said BBC.

I have good reason for this inference. Us folks in America who are addicted to porn because our societies are all phucked up rarely see the letters BBC unless it's in our porn search bars. The Brits - a little more relaxed than us sex fiends - see BBC all the time because its their big news and media network.
Re: BBC keeps hassling me
I've heard a number of different interpretations of the acronym BBC, such as Brussels Bulshitting Corporation, but having just checked, it appears there's a whole Wikipedia article on the one you're referring to. Thank you for bringing this to my attention.promethean75 wrote: ↑Fri Nov 14, 2025 6:26 pm Whew... what a relief. I would not knock Puff Daddy, he took a stalkers song and turned it into a song of beauty.Maia wrote: ↑Fri Nov 14, 2025 6:58 pmI've heard a number of different interpretations of the acronym BBC, such as Brussels Bulshitting Corporation, but having just checked, it appears there's a whole Wikipedia article on the one you're referring to. These are not stalker lyrics at all. I dunno what you're talking about. This is just another song about the struggle of wealthy negro drug dealers who are finally made able to stay wealthy through the commercial gimmick of cRap music and give up the horrible drudgery of making thousands of dollars per hour selling dope. Usually, there's a female gold digger and/or baby momma around during this transition from trash to bigger, better trash whom he wishes to include as a contributor or someone who 'stood by him' when he waited those long hours at the social security office for his snap benefits card so many years ago. None of this is his fault, mind you. He's just what happens when you combine environments and circumstances x and y to person z. Simple math, really.

Right under your photo it says "Joined: Thu Aug 25, 2022 8:11 am" so there's no point lying to me about being here 13 years.Maia wrote: ↑Fri Nov 14, 2025 5:14 pmThat's simply untrue. Right, because I extort 7 billion pounds a year from the population, and have vast influence over all areas of public life, but no accountability whatsoever, while being riddled with grotesquely overpaid leftist elites and celebrity paedophiles.
Nor was it me, incidentally, who spliced together two parts of Trump's speech to make him sound like he was saying the exact opposite of what he was saying, then broadcast it a few days before the US election. And that is all you are here for. You have nothing at all to do with philosophy. Trying to spread hatred of muslims is your only duty. And you only really became a regular here once attofishpi started getting banned for doing the same stuff.
You are a blatant propagandist.
You have quite obviously stepped up your efforts here recently, and became a regular daily poster only when attofishpi started getting banned for doing the same stuff.
You never discuss philosophy here. Even fishpi tried that on occasion. I doubt that you do at ILP either, but I can't be bothered finding that out, ILP means nothing to me.
All you do is describe your boring day to whatever simp cares about your lunch, and complain about foreigners that you want kicked out of the country so that your favourite hyper-tory can use you to seek power. You are a propagandist, and a cheap one at that.

Now there is an admission. When I worked for GM, I was studying every day, brining in my own computer, While there were plenty reading fuck books, it is not an American thingy, even though everyone wanted to know why I constantly studied. I was known at work as "The Professor." and there was a graffiti thing going on when I was fired, Free John Clark!, I won the battle, and I represented myself against company lawyers and won.promethean75 wrote: ↑Fri Nov 14, 2025 6:56 pm I have good reason for this inference. Life is what each of us makes it. Talking in absurd generalities is the mark of an idiot.
